According to Reuters , Facebook will change its name to Meta Platforms Inc.
Facebook was established on February 4, 2004 and is headquartered in California, USA. Since its establishment, the company has been deeply involved in the social media field and has become the leading company in the field.
Facebook acquired another social media company, Instagram, for $1 billion in 2012, and spent a huge amount of $19 billion in 2014 to acquire mobile messaging company WhatsApp.
Seventeen years after its establishment, at Facebook's annual conference on October 28, 2021, Zuckerberg announced the company's name change and expanded its business outside of social media, making efforts in the fields of AR ( augmented reality ) and VR (virtual reality) to deploy the meta-universe plan.
