It is reported that the floating oil pipeline of Taiwan's "Central Oil Corporation" Kaohsiung Dalin Plant broke down on the 22nd of this month, causing a large amount of crude oil to leak. In addition to floating to Xiaoliuqiu, a large amount of oil float also appeared in the Hongchaikeng sea area of Hengchun Hongchaikeng. Because Hongchaikeng's sea area is rich in ecology and is also a famous diving and semi-dive sightseeing boat location. The seabed ecology is covered by oil pollution. The villagers have mobilized to remove the pollution, but it is still impossible to clean it up.
Kaohsiung City Councilman Lin Yukai pointed out that at the current level of impact, the ecology of Xiaoliuqiu sea turtle has also suffered a severe impact, and even the coral reef ecosystem in Kenting Park has been polluted. The Supervision Bureau corrected "Central Oil" as early as 2017, requiring that similar accidents be not be reported manually.
