People's Daily : New materials are a very "hot" word. To develop new materials industry , multiple conditions need to be considered. So why did "small city" Shaowu choose new materials as the dominant industry?
Chen Xianqing: Fluorine new materials are one of the fastest-growing and most promising industries today. They are widely used in high-tech fields such as new energy and 5G. They have high added product value and are known as the "gold industry".
"Small City" Shaowu chose new materials as the leading industry mainly based on the "three major elements" of resource advantages, industrial foundation, and green parks.
Shaowu has a rare resource advantage. fluorite is an indispensable strategic resource for the development of emerging industries such as new energy, new materials, and new medicine. It is a world-class non-renewable and scarce resource. Shaowu City fluorite resource reserves reached 7.242 million tons, accounting for 20.7% of the province. The fluorite fine powder produced is of high quality, easy to exploit, few impurities and good choices. It is an ideal raw material for the development of high-end fluorine-containing new materials.
Shaowu has a complete industrial foundation. Since the 1960s, thanks to the national "small three lines" layout, " Yingxia Railway " has run through Shaowu, and a large number of industrial enterprises have sprung up like mushrooms after a rain. In the 1990s, we have successively introduced four top ten fluorine-new materials industry enterprises in the country to settle in Shaowu, achieving full coverage from basic hydrofluoric acid to deep-processing products. The fluorine-new materials industry has gradually grown into a leading industry supporting the industrial development of our city.

Shaowu also has a professional park with green ecological environment. Our Jintang Industrial Park has become one of the six major fluorine new materials industrial parks in Fujian Province, and among the six parks, the most complete industrial chain, the most concentrated industries, and the most top ten fluorine new materials industry in the country, with huge development potential, laying a solid foundation for building an important carrier and agglomeration area for the national fluorine new materials industry.
People's Daily: How did Shaowu "break through" in the new materials field of "competing for heroes"?
Chen Xianqing: We always keep in mind that "scientific and technological innovation is the primary productive force", and are committed to innovation in the field of new materials. We have successively established strategic cooperation relationships with Fuzhou University , Xi'an Institute of Modern Chemistry , introduced high-end talents in the field of new materials, jointly established an innovation platform, and attracted 21 national high-tech enterprises to settle in Shaowu, and 18 listed companies invested in Xingye in Shao. In order to enhance the "core driving force" of industrial development, we will continuously improve the common technology research and development, pilot and application demonstration platform system that is compatible with the industrial chain, accelerate project incubation and scientific research results transformation, and comprehensively enhance the core competitiveness of the industry.

At the same time, Shaowu also focused on improving the bearing capacity of the park. Continuously promote the standardization and intelligent construction of the park, improve and improve the infrastructure such as the park's road pipeline network, corporate apartments, cogeneration , accident emergency systems, sewage treatment, and other supporting facilities, orderly promote the construction of hazardous chemical warehousing and logistics, railway dedicated lines and other supporting facilities, realize the green, safe and sustainable development of the park, and provide strong support for the industry to become stronger and the park to be better.
People's Daily: We all know that Shaowu's " bamboo " is very famous. In the concept of many of us, the bamboo industry is a traditional industry. How does Shaowu make the traditional industry "old trees sprout"?
Chen Xianqing: The bamboo industry is a traditional industry, a green industry and a sunrise industry.In recent years, Shaowu has focused on the characteristic industry of "one bamboo" in Nanping , based on the industrial foundation and resource advantages, and strived to break through the key and missing links of the industrial chain, actively promoted the transformation and development of the bamboo industry, cluster development, innovative development, and leapfrog development, so that traditional industries can be revitalized.
First of all, we are working on improving the industrial energy level. The "Opinions on Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Bamboo Industry in Shaowu" were issued, and the construction of Shaowu's bamboo industry characteristic brands such as "Zhiba Net" and "Bamboo Cube" were accelerated, and the backbone enterprises such as "Dushi" and "Weijia" were fully supported to accelerate the development of " specialized, specialized, and new " small giant enterprises and single-chair enterprises in manufacturing industries, and accelerate the construction of a "1+N" platform development pattern with economic development zones as the main and township small and micro parks as the supplement, and promote the improvement of the bamboo industry's development level from the point to the surface.

At the same time, we attach great importance to the exploration and practice of ecological value transformation. Continue to promote the reform and innovation of "ecological bank", improve and perfect the "one village, one platform, one household, one equity , one dividend per year" mechanism, centralize the collection and storage of scattered forestry resources and large-scale operation, and explore the formation of a new path of green and low-carbon development that transforms "green water and green mountains" and "gold and silver mountains" and "high appearance" of the ecological environment and "high quality" of economic development.
Faced with the strong market demand for green and environmentally friendly materials, Shaowu actively guides enterprises to continuously explore new application scenarios for bamboo products.
