Taiwan 14-day counterclockwise itinerary around the island:
D1: Shenzhen Airport (1 hour and 50 minutes of plane) → Taipei Taoyuan Airport
Transportation: Depart from Shenzhen and arrive at Taipei Taoyuan Airport, Guoguang Bus (2.5 hours) → Taichung

Transportation: There is no subway in Taichung, so public transportation can only take buses, and the distance between attractions is relatively long, so travel is not very convenient. If you have plenty of time, you can choose to take a taxi. The starting price of taxi is NT$70 for NT$300, and then add NT$5 for every 300 meters.
Taichung buses can use cash. If you swipe the Youyou card, One Card, Taiwan Pass, ETC card, etc., the first 10 kilometers are free. Remember to swipe your card when getting in and out!

The best way to visit Sun Moon Lake is a boat around the lake or a bus around the lake. It is recommended to take a boat tour, with two routes in the direction and opposite direction. The cruise ship walks around the lake and will pass through Xuanguang Temple, Wenwu Temple, , Laru Island, Yidashao and other attractions. You can get off at the two piers of Xuanguang and Yidashao and visit nearby attractions.
Transportation: It takes about 2 hours to get from Taichung to Sun Moon Lake. You can choose passenger transport or chartered buses. Taiwan’s Good Travel Direct Line is about 1 hour. There are 9 flights a day on weekdays, 11 flights on holidays, and round-trip tickets of NT$340. There are many locals who are soliciting accommodation at the place where they get off the bus and also sell cruise tickets. The window buys it seems like NT$300 per ticket. We bought it with locals when we get off the bus, NT$100 per ticket.

Transportation: Taiwan Railway, train tickets are NT$144 to Chiayi. Because it was already noon when we arrived in Chiayi, and it was raining, the itinerary of the originally planned to go to Alishan was shelved. After lunch, we went shopping in Chiayi city.

D5: Alishan One-day Tour
Transportation: Taiwan’s good bus, just swipe a card to get on the bus. There are many flights per day, and it is very convenient to get back and forth.
Play: Zhushan Station → Ogasawara Mountain → Nuohei Park → Water Mountain Giant Wood Trail → Sisters Pond → Alishan Shenmu Group
The sunrise in Alishan is very beautiful. If you want to see it, you need to get up at 4 a.m., take a small train from Alishan Station to Zhushan Station, and walk to Ogasawara Mountain. This is the best place to watch the sunrise. If you don’t want to see the sunrise, get up and take the train to Naopai Station or Shenmu Station, and walk to Naopai Park, Shuishan Giant Wood Trail, Sisters Pond, Alishan Shenmu Group and other attractions. Due to the weather, we couldn't see the sunrise, so we had to choose the latter and spent NT$80 to buy the round-trip ticket for the Alishan train to go up the mountain under the heavy rain.

Transportation: Taiwan Railway, arrived in Tainan at noon, the streets are full of Japanese restaurants, the sushi I like is cheap and delicious. After lunch, I went to Anping Castle after a full meal. Fortunately, I saw the sunset in Anping.

Transportation: At noon, the Taiwan Railway took from Tainan to Kaohsiung, and chartered a bus to Kenting. When we met a kind chartered car from Kaohsiung, a return-trip business car took us two to Kenting. On the way, we also helped us find fruit stalls to buy fruits. We parked several beautiful attractions for us to take photos. We kindly helped us contact hotels in Kenting and Hualien. We only charged NT$800 for our trip and carried our luggage to the third floor of the hotel. There are many private passengers around the exit of Kaohsiung Railway Station, which are similar to passenger transport prices, and you don’t have to rely on the station, which is much faster.
play: Go to the Confucius Temple and Chikan Building in Tainan in the morning, and then visit the Kenting Street Night Market after going to Kenting.

Preparation before traveling:
1, Taiwan Pass. Processing method: Go to the Entry and Exit Management Office of the place where the household registration is located. Need to bring: original copy of ID card + original copy of household registration + 2 two-inch photos on white background, personal G signature, team T signature, and pick it up after 10 working days. A total of RMB 50 per sign is RMB 10. The validity period of the Taiwan Pass is six months, which means that you must go to Taiwan within these six months, otherwise it will expire.
2. Entry license, you must contact a travel agency for this. I found it on Taobao and I signed it the next day, which is very convenient. admission certificate is valid for three months, and you can stay for a maximum of 15 days (14 nights) for free travel. The following is the entry permit, and you will be OK before you leave.
3. Book air tickets. After obtaining the license to enter Taiwan, book the air ticket quickly. The earlier you book, the cheaper it is. There are many flights to and from Shenzhen to Taipei, and the price is cheaper.
4, communication. China Mobile can open Taiwan roaming service for free as long as the balance of stored value is greater than 200 yuan. It seems that answering and making calls are 0.99 per minute, sending short messages is 0.39 yuan, and receiving information is free. I just activated this one directly. I didn’t buy a mobile phone card specifically for Taiwan. However, considering that it is inconvenient to access the Internet there, I rented a portable WIFI on Taobao, which can 5 devices surf the Internet at the same time. It is really cost-effective, and the signal is very good. It is very convenient to get it back at Taoyuan Airport.
5, luggage. The baggage check-in for general flights is 23kg. Toiletries and hairdryers (both hotels and homestays in Taiwan are provided, so you don’t need to bring too much), mobile phone chargers, conversion plugs (Taiwan is a two-way plug, and if there is no three-way charger conversion plug, you can ignore it), mobile phone chargers, small notebooks (basically every scenic spot, station, and tourism service center in Taiwan can be stamped and commemorated. Friends who like it are very necessary to bring a specially stamped notebook), umbrellas (do you remember to visit Taipei in winter to see the rain), and if you are also convenient, bring a small flashlight (the trails in Taroko Park are many long caves, pitch black).
6. Currency exchange. Since the Taiwan dollar is a small currency, there are not many stocks in the mainland, and many banks cannot exchange them. If there is a Ping An Bank's platinum savings card, global withdrawals are free of charge, and there is no need to exchange any foreign currency in China. It is very convenient to find an ATM with UnionPay logo to withdraw money at any time when you go to the local area. I got off the plane and picked it up directly at Taipei Taoyuan Airport.Many B&Bs and shopping places in Taiwan can use Alipay to pay RMB or RMB cash, which is more cost-effective than withdrawing cash and redeeming cash, and it is also convenient. You can basically swipe your card for shopping, so you don’t have to find a place to exchange Taiwan dollars in advance before departure.
