Although the original NAND Flash manufacturer may make a lot of profits, midstream and downstream manufacturers who cannot obtain enough supply and cannot reflect the price according to the cost will suffer a lot.

At the first quarter of this year's memory factory Huabang Electric mentioned that the production capacity of NOR Flash suppliers is limited, but new demand and capacity from various applications continue to increase, and the market conditions of supply and demand will drive prices to rise. As for 2018, we need to pay careful attention to the capacity expansion of Taiwan and China's peers.
Wanghong (2337) is already the leader in the global NOR Flash market. Total NOR Flash's monthly production capacity is between 8-inch and 12-inch factories, with a monthly production capacity of about 22,000 to 24,000 pieces. It is expected that its NOR Flash supply in the second half of the year will be more than in the first half of the year. Of the 44,000 pieces of Huabang Electric currently have a monthly production capacity of about 40% of the company, and the monthly production capacity is expected to reach 48,000 pieces by the end of this year. The company has planned that the capacity increase of Taichung factories will be mainly Flash.
According to research and research agency TrendForce Technology, the demand driven by the new demand for smart phones to adopt AMOLED panels and the integrated single chip (TDDI) of touch and drivers. In addition, the global monthly NOR Flash is only about 88,000 pieces, which is highly customized and the production capacity is not easy to expand. The overall supply and demand pattern of NOR Flash will continue. It is estimated that the price of NOR Flash will rise by 20% in the third quarter.
TrendForce believes that the tight supply of NOR Flash will remain unchanged in the next few quarters. From the demand perspective, the demand for NOR Flash products of the three major products AMOLED, TDDI and the Internet of Things is an emerging field.
