This time, our DAMO Academy borrowed a brand new RX 401 for in-depth test drive evaluation. The test drive vehicle was the RX 401 Zhizun version, and the price was 31,980 yuan with TFT instrument version.
RX 401 unique hard-core configuration
First of all, the Sykelong RX 401 is considered a new standard compared to the previous generation RX3S. The body lines are tough and simple. From the side, the lines have been from the fuel tank to the rear of the car. The fuel tank and guard plate are consistent and very pleasing.
returns to the single-light design from the dual-light lamp. The unique headlight is embedded very flat in the front of the car. In the words of Saikelong, it is called "tiger headlight". Another feature is the duckbill design under the headlight, which can provide effective downforce with the air duct design.
In addition, the original windshield shape and headlights maintain the consistency of shape. The adjustment method of the windshield is manual adjustment, and the maximum movable distance should be 5 cm. The entire car lights of
RX 401 are LED light sources, and the headlights are sunlight belts on both sides. This headlight has a very good lighting effect when we actually use it, especially the lighting range and clarity of the high beam lights are outstanding.
Here is a feature configuration of the vehicle. RX 401 is an option with automatic lighting. The light is turned on according to the environment. As a long-distance SV with automatic lighting, the configuration with automatic lighting is very practical. It can effectively reduce manual operations when entering tunnels and dim forest paths.
There is also a bright button on the right hand handle, then the ABS off button. After pressing for three seconds, the ABS light on the left side of the instrument starts to flash. At this time, it means that the vehicle is in an ABS off state, which can make the RX 401 play better on the gravel road. It is worth mentioning that Zongshen has recently configured the ABS off button on hard-core cars.
The vehicle fuel tank is 20.5 liters. After our use test at non-high speed, the average fuel consumption is 4.1 liters. Therefore, the RX 401 can last up to 500 kilometers at full fuel state, which is a very excellent range.
The first point of complaint here is the vehicle's low oil volume warning. The low oil volume prompt for RX 401 is directly the second last grid, and it starts to strobe at the last grid, rather than the last grid after using it for a certain time. At this time, there are 6 or 7 liters of oil in the vehicle. The premature low oil volume prompt made me very anxious at the time.
The second groove point is that it is difficult to break up the keyhole protection plate of the fuel tank cover, and it is even more difficult to wear gloves.
The wheel hub configuration of the vehicle also adopts a very hard-core front 19 inches and rear 17 inches. The externally embedded vacuum spoke wheel hub can effectively reduce impact when facing continuous bumpy road surfaces.
uses such a hard-core wheel hub configuration, the seat height is 815mm, the ground clearance is 190mm, and the vehicle engine comes with stainless steel guard plates under it.
One thing you need to note here is that there are two black guard bars outside the vehicle engine, which is actually the guard bar and not the frame. The two guard bars of plus silver guard bars are combined with a 20.5-liter fuel tank, so the vehicle's curb weight is also 225KG.
As for the tire, the tire's grip is not superior on the paving road. It slips twice during driving, but it performs well when it is not paved. After running the dirt road, it does not find any slippage.
RX 401 Power driving and shock absorption control
Power, the engine with the same platform is adopted, with a maximum power of 9500 rpm output of 33Kw (44 horsepower), and a maximum torque of 8000 rpm output of 37 Nm. The overall medium and high rotation is before 5500 rpm, and the engine is smooth and whistle. Once the torque of the vehicle after 5500 rpm starts to rise rapidly.
It is worth noting that after the engine reaches 5500, the vibration will be obvious and even the exhaust sound will break. As long as you are not scared away by the vibration, you can play the true performance of the vehicle.
When we unloaded three boxes of fuel and still had 6,7 liters, we accelerated 100 kilometers. After many times, the vehicle accelerated 100 kilometers in 6.65 seconds, and the power was still OK in the 30,000 yuan SUV. The vehicle is also equipped with a sliding clutch. When driving, it is found that the gear is very clear, and it is also easy to find neutral gear under the traffic light.
complained about a point. The difference between vehicles is still very big before and after 5500 rpm. I can accept the vibration of vehicles. , but the extension of the first gear is very short. The vibration starts at a speed of about 20 kilometers per hour, which makes you feel the urge to upgrade immediately.
actually has pretty good control. The steering angle of the handle is large. Even if it comes with three boxes, you won’t feel that it will have 225kg when driving.
shock absorption, the front shock absorption damping is adjustable with a hard and soft, and the rear shock absorption preload can be adjusted with a multi-link configuration. We commented according to the factory settings that the overall hardness is generally hard, especially the feedback on the rear shock absorption road surface is very obvious. The only explanation is that Saikelong made the RX 401 hard ADV.
The overall driving experience of Rx 401 is that the acceleration in the early stage will be "smashed". After all, 8000 rpm will output the maximum torque. Perhaps because of this, there are two driving feelings in front and rear of 5500 rpm!
All in the startup state of RX 401 is somewhat similar to the previous Yamaha Tianjian King. It is used to increase the rotation number to ensure that any environment can start smoothly. When RX 401 starts, the rotation number is 2500 revolutions, and when stable is 1500 revolutions. The biggest difference between it and Tianjian King is that only the cold car will pull up by 1,000 revolutions for the first time, while RX 401 raises the rotation number every time it starts. This setting is both beneficial and disadvantageous.

Finally, let’s talk about the recommendations for the two versions of RX 401. The price of Zhizun version 31,980 yuan is 2,000 yuan more expensive than the flagship version.
If you ask me if the 2,000 yuan is worth it, I would say it is worth adding this money. Even if I don’t like ambient lights, I think the most worth it is that it comes with a tire pressure and OBD intelligent system, because OBD can quickly connect the vehicle to obtain the vehicle’s internal information for diagnosis.
As for tire pressure monitoring, it is a good choice for a long-distance SUV. Let me first complain that the option of Saikelong tire pressure learning cannot be modified (see the video content for details). There is a tire pressure display that is a good point, but it is a pity that the tire pressure learning force in the menu cannot be modified. I hope that Saikelong's later upgrade of the vehicle system can learn tire pressure.
summary is that Saikelong RX 401 is a very hard-core SV. If you are not satisfied with paving and hobby to travel through the wilderness, the 30,000 yuan range is one of the most worthy models to buy.
