Industrial Internet platform, as an important driving force to promote the development of the Internet of Things, has developed very rapidly in recent years. Advantech also launched its own industrial IoT cloud platform WISE-PaaS in 2015. On the edge side, hundreds or thousands of industrial field equipment and enterprise data are collected through edge intelligent software; and uploaded these data to the infrastructure layer, we provide different architectures of public and private clouds to enter the cloud platform layer; at the cloud platform layer, we provide visual services, development modules including artificial intelligence, etc., to realize user management, data management, etc. These tools are mainly used to serve our partners.
Our platform will be used in all walks of life. Our strategy is to invite partners from all walks of life to develop on this platform. The various applications on the platform, which we call application solution software, are promoted together with external partners. It can be understood that Apple and Android have developed hundreds of APPs in the early years, but tens of thousands of them are cooperated with external partners.
The WISE-PaaS platform applications mentioned earlier, such as visual data presentation and analysis, tool application, and intelligent factory application solutions, are currently used in Advantech's smart park. Our park has factories and R&D buildings. Through a platform, we manage our park, manage our energy, manage our visitors, manage our equipment production, and even manage our production data. This platform includes a framework from the connections at the bottom of the data, to the visualization above, to the asset management of devices, and even to the artificial intelligence development services. Nowadays, some companies have started smart manufacturing, some are still waiting and watching, and some companies even don’t understand what smart manufacturing is. This is the question of whether there is insight. Combining insight, experience, and data, this is a foundation for moving towards digital transformation. Finally, when your decision is based on experience + data, your production is no longer based on personal experience alone, but also has real-time data, and is a smart decision made after analysis and refinement.

Advantech's intelligent manufacturing is implemented one by one through these so-called Internet of Things technology and automation technology combined with software. For example, through the familiar automation architecture, from the device layer, MES, ERP, etc., and then in our new Internet of Things era, the automation architecture will be dismantled, from the so-called edge side to the cloud platform architecture, through this architecture, many innovative technologies and new applications have been derived. Advantech is located in the factory of Kunshan in Jiangsu Province. The peak here was 2,700 people. Now there are only 2,100 people in this factory, but our production capacity has doubled three times compared to before. How did we do it?
