There are indeed many accident cars in the used car market now. After the water-bubble car is repaired, it is sold at a high price. If you don’t want to be cheated, the most important thing is: don’t be greedy for cheapness. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
For example, some cars have good conditions and fewer kilometers, but the price is much cheaper than the same model and the same age. You need to be careful. Like this, "good car condition, few mileage" but the price is low, and 80% of them are suspected of soaking in water. Today I will focus on how to check how to soak in water.
The first thing to check is that the steering column under the steering wheel
is usually soaked in a water truck or a wading truck. Water enters the cab, and the floor cotton and steering columns will leave corrosive rust. In addition, check whether the seat belt has water stains, whether there are water stains and mud marks in the gaps of the seat, and whether there is rust in the cigarette lighter . If you check that all the above parts are strange, then this car is probably a water-soaked truck!
Next, check the fuse box
Some friends may not know where the fuse box is, as shown in the figure above: the fuse box is generally far away from the engine and is located in the battery attachment, with a clear pattern marked as fuse box. If a car has been soaked in water, there will be rust in the fuse box. If the fuse is removed, there will be traces of mud and sand in the fuse socket. Generally speaking, the fuse box is the most difficult place to clean, so if it is a water truck, you can still find any tricks when checking the fuse box.
Next, check the spare tire slot
Open the trunk cover, take out the spare tire, and check whether there are water, sand and rust marks in the spare tire slot under the spare tire. Of course, if there is water and sand and rust in the spare tire tank alone, it is not enough to judge that the car is a water soaker truck, and further evidence is needed to support it.
If conditions permit or the seller allows, you can open the door panel to check the inside of the car door (if you have no hands-on ability, it is not recommended to do it). Generally, there are drainage holes at the bottom of the car door to drain the water entering the car door when it rains. If it is a water soaking truck, water containing mud and sand will flow back into the door from the drain hole at the bottom of the car door. After the car is taken out of the water, the deposited water and sand will remain inside the door.
In addition, check engine compartment , chassis, etc. If soaked in water, corrosion marks will appear to prove whether the car is soaked in water. It should be noted here that some car manufacturers have not done anti-rust treatment. In addition, if southern cities are relatively humid, some parts will rust, which is not enough to prove that they are soaked in water trucks.
