2021's 11-inch iPad Pro has become the longest-lasting model of its kind ever sold, because there are signs that Apple is planning to replace the device with a new model as soon as next month. In April 2021, Apple launched the new 12.9-inch and 11-inch iPad Pro models, which feature M1 chip , Lightning ports, supports 5G connectivity, center stage camera enhancement, and a larger miniLED display .
Interestingly, this product is still on sale, more than 18 months since its launch. As of today, the 11-inch iPad Pro in 2021 is now 513 days old, one day longer than the 2016 9.7-inch iPad Pro that dominated the longest before. The 2021 12.9-inch model is still 59 days younger than the 2015 first-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro. This is because the first-generation iPad Pro debuted in November 2015 with a 12.9-inch model and was only added four months later by the 9.7-inch model.
The super long service period of the 2021 iPad Pro is worth noting, because since the original version was launched nearly seven years ago, customers have not been used to waiting for the new model for such a long time, which may indicate that the next model update is likely to have substantial changes.
The new iPad Pro model is expected to be announced as soon as next month's Apple event. Several major retailers, including Optus and Logitech , have been spotted preparing for the launch of the new iPad Pro model. The next generation iPad Pro models are expected to be equipped with M2 chip, MagSafe wireless charging, two new quad-pin connectors on the top and bottom sides, and bringing an upgrade to the camera.
