Currently, it is a good time for konjac cultivation. There is a busy scene in the Jinya konjac planting base in Huaiji County. Workers are fighting for the farming season and planting the konjac seedlings of hope.

It requires careful cultivation and high ridges and deep trenches to plant. It is necessary to take sunshade measures and water and fertilizer control. Before sowing, sufficient organic fertilizer or farm fertilizer should be spread in the fields. After planting konjac, weeding and top dressing should be done in time. When talking about the job at her doorstep, Guo Xianglian expressed her satisfaction. She worked at the base and had a fixed income every day. She could also take care of her family after get off work, so that she could "get both work and family" and improve her income. As her family's living standards increased, she also improved.
At the konjac warehouse base, villagers are carefully selecting taro seeds. The relevant person in charge of the base said that the selection of taro seeds is the most critical link and is also a "technical activity". We must select taro seeds with smooth skin, full particles and uniform size to plant. After selecting taro seeds, we must soak them in the water of the potion for disinfection, and then use the ultraviolet rays of the sun to sterilize them to ensure that the taro seed development rate reaches the expected target.

Currently sorting, disinfecting and screening seeds, and then planting them to ensure that the seed development rate reaches more than 90%. At the same time, we guide farmers to develop konjac planting, provide them with seeds and planting technical guidance, so that they can try the seeds first, and after the trial planting is successful, we will guarantee the recycling.
Last year, with the strong support of Liangcun Town Committee and Town Government, the konjac planting project successfully completed land transfer, with a planting scale of more than 2,000 mu, with a production of more than 7,000 tons of commercial taro, with an annual output value of about 80 million yuan. This year, it is expected to increase the planting of second-generation taro by 1,000 mu, with the total planting scale expanding to more than 3,000 mu, and the total output can reach more than 9,000 tons. It is spring plowing season, and more than 60 to 100 surrounding villagers come to the base to work every day.
