On July 10, 2022, the 2022 Nanjing Youth Sunshine Sports Festival Campus Basketball 3V3 League was held at Jinling Middle School. 24 teams in the city participated in this competition, and the Xuanwu Technical College Women's Basketball Team debuted for the first time. Teachers Tang Rui and Gu Junjie led the team to compete fiercely with other strong teams, and finally won the excellent results of the runner-up of the league.
This competition first started with a group cycle and then cross-elimination. In the group stage, the players easily won the best results in the group stage with their clever cooperation and hot feel, qualifying into the top 16. After the top 16, they were knockout matches, which was a very big challenge for the players' psychology and physical fitness. Fortunately, they cooperated tacitly and made active steals, and finally entered the semi-finals with two big scores.
In the semi-finals, our school played against the home team Jinling Middle School. The competition in the first two games caused the players to consume physical fitness. The opponent scored two goals in the beginning of the game. The coach immediately called a short timeout, which gave the players some rest, and encouraged the players not to be discouraged, actively defend and organize offense. Sure enough, after the timeout, our school players regained their momentum and tied the score with two consecutive pick-and-rolls. The opponent was instantly at a loss and was suppressed in momentum. After pick-and-roll, rebounds, and the hot touch after the momentum, the players finally won the game with a score of 5:2 and advanced to the finals with a record of complete victory! They have done this! Although they finally lost to the championship with a 9:11 record, they won the respect of the audience for their first appearance in the city competition.
"Why should you need to be light green and dark red? You are the first among the flowers." The fighting spirit of the women's basketball team is interpreting the "Gui culture" of Xuanwu Technical College. The tenacious attitude and the tenacity of never giving up. The ranking is no longer important. The players' refinement of the competition process itself is a kind of growth.
