Recently, the reporter saw at the construction site of the Suzhou University Future Campus that all the projects of the comprehensive building and the teacher and student apartment building that will be delivered and used in September this year have entered the final stage, and the prototype of the future campus of Suzhou University, known as the "campus in the park", has begun to appear.
Suzhou University Future Campus is located west of National Highway 524, east of Chang'an Road, and north of Xinqi Highway, closely connected to the resort ecological park and Beijing-Hangzhou Canal . Entering the school from the east gate of the future campus of Suzhou University, an archway that replicates the original Soochow University is under construction. The comprehensive building and the teacher-student apartment building are located on the north side of the archway. The entire campus is very Soviet-style and contains modern elements. It looks simple, fashionable and grand.
"In September this year, about 50 graduate students and their team of tutors took the lead in studying here. At that time, they entered the campus from Dongdaemen and started their study and research career here." Chen Bingliang, full-time deputy director of the Future Campus Management Committee of Suzhou University, told reporters that the single building of the comprehensive building is about 14,000 square meters and is designed with 6 floors. The comprehensive building integrates office, teaching, conference, catering and accommodation. The teacher and student apartment has a total of 6 floors, which can accommodate about 200 people.
As a demonstration project for the integrated development of education in the Yangtze River Delta, the future campus of Suzhou University takes the comprehensive education park that reflects cutting-edge pioneering research, cultivates high-quality talents, serves the development of emerging industries, and adapts to the work and life of high-end people in the international community. It will build future-oriented, intelligent public service facilities and a high-quality, globally synchronized service system. Suzhou University Future Campus covers an area of 1,000 mu, with a construction area of 400,000 square meters, and is built in two phases. In addition to the comprehensive building and teacher-student apartments delivered and used in September, the first phase of the Suzhou University future campus project also includes college building, gymnasium, administrative building, canteen and other buildings, which will be delivered and used in September 2022.
"At present, all projects are being carried out in an orderly manner. Before September, we will work overtime to complete the work of interior finishing and surrounding environment improvement, so as to create a learning environment for students and teachers that integrates scientific research, office, and life conditions." Chen Bingliang said.
