Neilaoxi Town is 18.4 kilometers long, involving 16 administrative villages in the town, agricultural irrigation and drainage in Dongpuchang and Nanhai Street, and enterprise drainage in Dananhai Petrochemical Industrial Park. Due to the disrepair of Neilan River for more than 30 years, the slopes have been lost and collapsed, sand and lotus are accumulated at the bottom of the canal, and the silt is severely blocked, which has lost its drainage and irrigation functions. In particular, the blockage from Mengshan Village to Shuitou Wukong Gate section in Xixi Town is particularly serious, with a blockage length of about 10.4 kilometers. During the years, the town suffered serious flooding and damage caused by flooding during heavy rain.
In order to ensure that the lives and property of the people are not threatened and agricultural production is not affected, the main leaders of the District Committee of the Dananhai Petrochemical Industry Zone and the District Management Committee have repeatedly inquired about the drainage situation of Neilaoxi River and visited the fifth-hole gate section of Neilaoxi Mengshan to Shuikou. The Xixi Town Committee and the town government have designated this work as a people's livelihood project. From April 20 this year, the fifth-hole gate section of Neilaoximengshan to Shuikou has been silted. So far, all the slopes and dredging silt at the bottom of the canal have been repaired for about 10.4 kilometers.
The dredging of Neihua River has been praised by local farmers. Lin Mupeng, a villager in Junlin Village, Xixi Town, said: "The rains have been continuously caused a few days ago. If the farmland had been flooded before, now the rainwater can be discharged through the unblocked Neihuai River. Thanks to the Party Committee and the government!" Tang Laishun, a villager in Zhenqian Village, said happily: "I planted more than 8 acres of land next to Neihuai River. When it rained in the past, my countryside would be flooded. Now I am not afraid of being flooded. There will definitely be a good harvest this year!"
