September 10, 2022 , Wang Zhongshan, a famous Guzheng artist who is known as the "Sage of the Master of the Zhengtan", will come to Han again, joining hands with young pianist Ji Lu, flute player Huang Jiaqing and percussion player Wang Jianan to bring a special concert to Jiangcheng audiences that gather various special zither music, presenting a wonderful national music feast.
At this concert, the Hakka music "Zhaojun Resentment", Shandong Daban "Beautiful Girls' Homesickness", Chaozhou string poem "Fu De Temple" (Living Five Tents), Henan music "Daqian Ban" and other representative works with unique local characteristics will show the audience the colorful charm and profoundness of the Guzheng; the concert will also present the national classics, such as "Lin Chong's Night Running" and "Fighting Tiger Up the Mountain". As the master of contemporary Chinese guzheng art, Wang Zhongshan has shown outstanding achievements in guzheng skills, performance and academic research. At the first Guzheng Academic Exchange Conference in China in 1986, Wang Zhongshan creatively used the wheel finger technique and was the first to perform on the Chinese zither using the difficult form of "wearing four Yijias in your left hand", which caused a sensation.
As one of the most influential and popular Guzheng artists in contemporary China, he once won the Guzheng championship in the International Chinese Folk Instrumental Solo Competition. He has so far maintained the record of the largest number of solo concerts held by Guzheng performers in history. Wang Zhongshan's musical performance is considered to have a "king style", delicate and vivid, with a soft and bright tone, and is good at expressing rational thinking in emotional music language, and is known as the "saint of the zheng hall".
Wang Zhongshan, currently a professor at the China Conservatory of Music, doctoral supervisor, and deputy director of the Department of National Music, has also created and adapted many guzheng solo, tee, and ensemble works. Some of the works have been listed as teaching repertoire for Guzheng majors such as the China Conservatory of Music, the Central Conservatory of Music, and the "Wenhua Award" sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, and the "Golden Bell Award" sponsored by the Chinese Musicians Association and other authoritative competitions.
