The 11th China Music Golden Bell Award Guzheng competition has come to an end. Deng Yiqun was born in Qufu, Shandong, . He started learning the guzheng at the age of 5. Like most Chinese piano children, they should start with hobbies and eventually become professionals.
In the late 1990s, he first met his cousin performing the guzheng at a family gathering. Since then, he has become interested in the guzheng and has begun his journey of learning the guzheng.

Speaking of parents, Deng Yiqun's parents have always been very strict on the road to children's piano learning. Even when they first started learning piano, they usually "forced" their son to practice for two to three hours every day, and on Saturdays and Sundays, they have to reach six hours a day. Of course, Deng Yiqun, who was a child, spent his childhood like other piano children, beating and scolding.
"Teacher Zhao Lin's home is in Jinan, so in order to accompany me to learn the piano, my mother would accompany me to Jinan for two or three hours every week to take a long-distance bus. Because my mother and I have very serious motion sickness, the 4 or 5-hour round trip is very painful, but even so my parents took me to the guzheng class, regardless of wind or rain."
When Deng Yiqun was nine years old, his academic performance began to decline, and the exams were worse than each other. By chance, a neighbor's sister came to his house to visit and saw Deng Yiqun practicing piano. She was studying for a master's degree in music at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. This sentence seemed to awaken Deng Yiqun's parents. Not long after, his parents took Deng Yiqun to formally embark on the road to study in Shanghai.
After someone's recommendation, Deng Yiqun's parents came to Shanghai to meet with two famous Guzheng professors of Shanghai Conservatory of Music - He Baoquan and Sun Wenyan . The two professors fell in love with this rare boy who studied Guzheng at first sight and took great care of them.

What's more, the self-creation of him, such as an "amateur composer", naturally does not have an advantage in the audience and judges' awareness of the works.
However, Deng Yiqun and his teachers believed that in a national guzheng performance, playing and carrying forward "our Shanghai works themselves should be a responsibility and instinct as a Shanghai musician." Therefore, after a fierce ideological struggle, Deng Yiqun decided to "gamble" and try it.
At the performance level of the work, Deng Yiqun tried his best to make himself boldly conceive and carefully construct. The so-called bold conception is to show complete self-expression to the greatest extent possible without being bound by any performance sample.
Careful construction is to make yourself return to a listener while playing, and to examine whether your music can be accepted and even moved by the audience.
