On April 26, The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) released the 2021-2022 World University Rankings. Among them, Tsinghua University (58th in the world) surpassed Peking University (59th in the world), ranking first in China. There are 2 fewer universities on the list in Japan than last year, ranking third with 124. The UK ranked fourth with 95. Other countries with a large number of universities on the list include 79 in France, 70 in Germany, 66 in Italy, 64 in India, 60 in South Korea, 356 in Brazil, 355 in Turkey, 53 in Spain, 46 in Russia, 44 in Canada, 340 in Poland, and 39 in Australia.
There are 8 more universities in China this year than last year, including 10 more universities in mainland China, 2 universities in Taiwan, and no changes in Hong Kong and Macao in China. Among the Chinese universities shortlisted for
12 universities, there are 268 mainland universities (including China-Europe International Business School and Changjiang Business School ), 35 Taiwan, China, 7 Hong Kong, China, and 2 Macau, China.

The top 10 universities in mainland China are: Tsinghua University, Peking University, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Jiaotong University , Zhejiang University , Fudan University , University of Science and Technology of China , Sun Yat-sen University , Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Nanjing University .
