Recently, the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) released the 2022-2023 World University Rankings.
Compared with the familiar rankings such as QS, THE, USNews, and ARWU, CWUR seems a bit "niche". But CWUR's ranking covers a total of 2,000 universities around the world, and the scale is not small.
In addition, it is also a few rankings that do not rely on surveys and data provided by each university, so it can avoid fraudulent behaviors in individual schools, ensure objectiveness, and suitable for everyone's reference.
Next, let’s take a look at the ranking indicators and results in detail with Huiying editor

Ranking results
Among the top 100 universities in the world in CWUR in 2022/23, there are 50 universities in the United States on the list, which has an absolute advantage. Among other major study abroad countries, there are 9 in the UK, 6 in Germany, 5 in France, 4 in Canada, 2 in Australia, and 1 in Singapore.
There are also 5 universities in mainland China shortlisted in the top 100 in the world, namely Tsinghua University, Peking University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Zhejiang University.
The specific rankings of the top 30 universities in the UK are as follows:
Overall, it is not much different from QS and other rankings, but LSE is almost ranked 30th...?
(York University: This is the closest I have to top50.)
Many friends must sigh that I don’t understand, but in fact, as long as you look closely at the CWUR indicator measurement method, it is not difficult to find why G5 is “four missing one”.
In the quality of Faculty, CWUR uses the award weights of teaching staff to judge the school’s faculty. The selected awards include 23 subjects, among which science and engineering disciplines account for the majority, so the more science and technology colleges or comprehensive universities, the easier it is to get high scores.
In terms of teaching quality (Quality of Education), CWUR also chose to use the weighted number of school alumni awards to examine the school's teaching results. Compared with science and technology schools that are prone to results, LSE, which features social science and business, naturally has lower scores.
However, in "alumni employment", LSE surpasses other schools, second only to Niu Jian in the UK.
CWUR uses the school’s CEO alumni weighted average to represent the school’s employment level. The LSE ranking is so high that it shows how strong its business is.
In addition to Niu Jian and LSE, there are Imperial College, Reading (Henry Business School) and Warwick. Students who want to apply for business can target these colleges.
