As one of the "Eighteen Bachelors" of bonsai, June snow is a common and excellent bonsai variety. There are also many June snow miniature bonsai on the flower market. The price is low, and you can buy a small pot of fine products for ten or twenty yuan. The trees in June are beautifully shaped, with thin leaves, dense branches, thick trunks and exposed roots. The small white flowers bloom in summer are white and crystal clear, extraordinary, so they are loved by many flower lovers.
However, because some netizens do not know much about the growth habits of June snow, or there are deviations during the maintenance process, many flower lovers reported that their June snow bonsai had some lesions, yellow leaves, or fell off leaves, or only branches and leaves did not bloom, and some were serious and even the whole plant died, which is a pity. Let’s first look at the growth habits of June snow. June snow is a subtropical tree species and is an evergreen shrub of the Rubiaceae family. It is widely distributed in the south of the Yangtze River and southwest provinces of my country. It likes warm and humid climatic conditions, likes sunlight and is also resistant to semi-shades. The soil is better for neutral or weak acidic soil, which requires loose and breathable, and not cold-resistant. In the north, it must be wintered indoors in winter. There are generally seven reasons for the following snow in June:
1. Water damage
water damage is the most common reason for the yellow leaves and leaves of the snow in June. Most flower lovers cherish flowers, especially novices, who often care too much, because they are afraid that the flowers are lacking in water. Therefore, they often water them regardless of the water. In some families, everyone loves flowers. [Disposal] Stop fertilizer, remove the yellowed leaves, water the June snow bonsai thoroughly with water, dilute the fertilizer, and then see more sunlight; in serious cases, repot and change the soil.
3. Frost damage
occurs in winter. The snow in June is not cold-resistant, and plants below 10℃ enter dormant, and frost damage will occur below 0℃.
[Features] The entire leaf of shrinks and turns yellow, and falls off when touched.
[Disposal] In June, snow plants can overwinter in the south because the root system is developed, but potted plants are different, and space is limited. Therefore, the temperature in winter is relatively low, so it must be maintained indoors to avoid too low temperatures.
4. Reasons for ventilation and lighting
In June, poor ventilation and long-term lack of light will also cause yellow leaves to fall off. Too strong light in summer can also burn the leaves.

[Disposal] Strengthen ventilation and lighting, and the distance between the flower pots is better to have a crown width of more than 20 cm. It is necessary to shade 50% in summer, and the other three seasons can be full sunlight.
5. Soil reasons
June snow root system is developed, has strong sprouting ability, and limited flower pot space. The root system is often entangled, causing soil solidification and poor drainage; or the soil pH is alkaline, especially in the north, and water quality causes the leaves of June snow yellow.

6. Diseases
June snow rarely has pests. Most of the diseases are fungal infections caused by accumulated water or poor ventilation with high temperature and high humidity; or bacterial infections from other plants.

[Disposal] Use pyrophyllol, mancozeb or methyl tropacin wettable powder for prevention and treatment, and cut off the diseased leaves or paper.
7. Normal metabolism
In addition to the above reasons, the normal physiological metabolism of June snow will also cause yellow leaves to fall off. Generally, old leaves are old, with very few, so don’t worry.

[Fertilization] June snow likes fertilizer, and some flower lovers often apply nitrogen fertilizer to fertilize in order to improve roots, causing the branches and leaves of June snow to flourish, which will only grow nutrients, rather than reproductive growth, and the result is that they rarely bloom or have a small number of flowers. When fertilizing in spring and autumn, you can alternately use fermented cake fertilizer water, alum fertilizer water or potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution, which can solve this problem.
[Light] June snow likes sunshine and resists semi-shades, but long-term lack of light will cause little or small blooms. Therefore, ventilation and light should be strengthened to promote differentiation of buds.
[Temperature] In June, snow blossoms also require appropriate temperature difference. Too low temperature difference will also cause too little flowering. Therefore, it is best to place it on the balcony, so the temperature difference between day and night forces the buds to differentiate.
[Pruning] June snow grows rapidly and has strong sprouting power, so it should be pruned frequently. Some sprouting at the bottom should be erased in time to avoid excessive nutrient consumption, and cut off the branches to induce the transformation of June snow to reproductive growth.
