At around 4:10 am on October 3, the upper half of the " stone old man " sea erosion column in Qingdao, Shandong suddenly collapsed. Laoshan District quickly organized experts to rush to the scene as soon as possible. After on-site investigation, it was believed that it was due to year-round weathering and seawater erosion, coupled with the recent weather, the upper half of the sea erosion column of the "Stone Old Man" naturally collapsed. At present, temporary protection measures have been taken for the "Stone Elderly" sea erosion column, and the specific restoration plan is being quickly demonstrated. (October 3 " Global Times ")
Looking at the scenery at the foot of the mountain through the blue sea, we can see a "Stone Old Man" sitting alone with his hands on his cheek. There is a legend that it was attacked by the Dragon King fossil magic because it was waiting for its stolen "daughter", and eventually turned into a stone waiting by the sea all day long, facing the "daughter" across the sea. This sad legend and the moving scenery of the sea erosion column itself have attracted the attention of many tourists, and more and more people come to check in and take photos. As a result, "Shi Lao Ren" has become well-known as the famous tourist landmark of Qingdao . But recently, it collapsed due to natural factors. The Laoshan District Culture and Tourism Bureau stated that it would discuss the subsequent restoration, but the author believes that the measures that the Cultural and Tourism Bureau should take for the famous landmark "Shi Lao Ren" are to maintain it at all times rather than repair it after destruction. Now it has collapsed, letting it go naturally is the best way to deal with it.
The reason why natural scenery is called natural scenery is because it is produced by natural phenomena and has been baptized by nature. Similarly, it will eventually be damaged naturally until it disappears due to the tempering of time. The same is true for "Old Man Shi". Due to the erosion of wind and waves, the accumulation of mud and sand will eventually be gradually damaged and disappeared due to weathering and erosion day and night. This is a normal natural phenomenon. Every creature in the world will go through the process from birth to disappearance. We can prolong their lives by careful maintenance and careful care, but we should not add and repair them by artificial means after they wear out and disappear, in an attempt to make them look complete and unified, as before. The author believes that the destruction and repair of damaged scenery seems to have allowed their lives to continue, but what continues to exist is no longer the original ones. If so, then what exactly are we admire and pursue?
In addition, let’s think about it from another perspective. The collapse of “Old Man Shi” may be because it has waited for its own “daughter” and no longer needs to watch alone by the sea. Isn't this a perfect ending? Sometimes, integrity does not necessarily mean perfection. Flaws are the beauty of life. We have witnessed the existence and disappearance of "Old Man Shi". Isn't it a beautiful process?
Therefore, for damaged scenery, we must calm our mindset, face the existence and disappearance of every natural scenery, and think about it from a different angle from time to time. Blindly pursuing integrity and wanting to repair damaged scenery through various means, even if there are reasonable reasons, it is disrespectful to the scenery itself. As the saying goes, forced melons are not sweet. Similarly, the forced restoration of the landscape also loses their original charm. When faced with them, letting things go naturally is the best choice, and horizontal intervention will only make them more incomplete.
