Comprehensive "American Spanish News" and Haiti 24 News Network reported on the 14th that a tanker was driving while avoiding motorcycles. Neighbors came to drill for gasoline on the truck to make profits from the black market transactions. The accident investigation report shows that the driver of the oil tanker noticed that people were trying to get oil, warned of explosion danger and urged them to leave, but people did not listen, but smashed the car with a hammer to get oil. Gasoline quickly flowed to nearby garbage dumps, causing an explosion. Nearby buildings and vehicles were burned down.

Explosion killed at least 60 people
Cape Haiti Deputy Mayor Almono confirmed that the explosion had killed 60 people and the death toll will rise further. Haiti has suffered constant disasters this year. The Haitian president was killed in July and another 7.2-magnitude earthquake in August, killing more than 2,200 people and destroying thousands of houses. In October, 17 American missionaries were kidnapped in Haiti, and only five people have been rescued. Recently, Haiti is experiencing fuel shortages and high oil prices, which have led to hospitals refusing to accept patients and the government shutting down schools, businesses and gas stations. The U.S. and Canadian governments urge their citizens to leave the country as soon as possible.
