htmlOn November 29, a video seminar for Chinese and Iranian tourism industry insiders was held in Tehran. Zhu Zihao, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Iran, and Vazeyev, Director-General for Market Development and Overseas Tourism Promotion of the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Tourism, attended the event, and dozens of practitioners from the Chinese and Iranian tourism industry attended the seminar. At themeeting, tourism industry insiders from both countries held a discussion on "how to attract Chinese tourists", and Chinese representatives taught them all their experience. In his speech, Vazeyev said that Iran has high hopes for Chinese tourists to drive the growth of the tourism industry after the epidemic is over. The Iranian Ministry of Culture and Tourism will implement relevant policies and activities to attract Chinese tourists, including lighting the landmark Tehran Free Tower during the Chinese Spring Festival, expressing its good wishes to the Chinese people.
From July 2019, Iran has implemented a visa-free policy for Chinese citizens. The Iranian government announced that it hopes to attract 1 million Chinese tourists to Iran in the next four or five years. During the National Day Golden Week in 2019, Chinese tourists "spread" over Iran's famous attractions, and hotels, restaurants, and buses in major tourist cities are "hard to find". Iranian certified tour guides were booked by Chinese tour groups. Unfortunately, the outbreak of the new crown epidemic has delayed the strong momentum of China-Iran tourism cooperation.
Counselor Zhu Zihao looked forward to the prospects of China-Iran tourism exchanges and cooperation at the seminar, and encouraged professionals in the tourism industry from both sides to open up new ideas and explore new methods for tourism cooperation in the post-epidemic era. The seminar will be held under the framework of the 15th Tehran International Tourism Exhibition, and will then hold three more seminars on "How to provide tourism guidance for Chinese tourists", "How to meet the catering needs of Chinese tourists" and "How to meet the accommodation needs of Chinese tourists". This is the first professional exchange among tourism industry insiders in the two countries since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic.
The biggest feature of Iran's tourism is that Iran has a long history of thousands of years and has a strong historical and cultural atmosphere. Under the guidance of the "China-Iran 25-year Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement", China-Iran cooperation in various fields is actively promoted. In terms of cultural exchanges, the two countries' film exchanges and cooperation, cooperation in Chinese education, and cooperation in classic translation have all blossomed and bear fruit.
