The live video released by Shenzhen Fire Protection's official Weibo showed that Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway Shajing toll station was heading towards the city, a tanker hit a guardrail in the middle of the road, the body of the car caught fire, and explosions continued to sound. Affected by the accident, traffic on both directions of the highway was interrupted. Several fire trucks and police cars were dealt with on-site. Witnesses said that at around 9:00 on March 22, the tanker almost hit a car driving in the same direction when it overturned. After the tanker overturned, the driver ran out of the car and looked uninjured.
On March 22, the Shenzhen Fire Brigade reported that after receiving the alarm, the Shenzhen 119 Command Center immediately dispatched 21 fire trucks and 103 officers and soldiers from 7 fire stations including Shajing, Fuyong to rush to the scene to deal with it, and the fire was quickly controlled. At around 9:50, the open flame of the tanker truck was completely extinguished, and no casualties were found yet.
That night, the Traffic Police Detachment of Shenzhen Public Security Bureau issued a notice stating that at 9:5 on March 22, when Fan drove a Guangdong T44222 heavy semi-trailer truck from north to south to the section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway K82+500 (about 200 meters ahead of the entrance of Shajing), he encountered a small off-road bus with Guangdong B****L license plate in the lane in front, and Fan failed to find out in time to slow down in advance to avoid speeding. When approaching, he urgently turned the steering wheel and avoided left, causing the vehicle to collided with the isolation belt between the middle of the road to overturn behind, causing the gasoline carried to leak and fire.

The police found through retrieving the surveillance video in the tanker truck that before the accident, Fan frequently used his mobile phone to listen and reply to voice messages, and looked down at the mobile phone screen from time to time. Not only that, Fan, who was driving an oil tanker, also violated the regulations in the car. In order to block the surveillance footage in the car, he was distracted and failed to avoid the car in time, causing an accident. At present, the accident is still under further investigation.
