Among them, asymptomatic infections involved 24 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, with the most reported in Shanghai and Jilin, with 7,788 cases in Shanghai and 3,499 cases in Jilin respectively.

Wu Jinglei, director of the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, introduced at a press conference: "From an international perspective, the number of asymptomatic people infected with the new coronavirus has gradually increased recently. Especially after Omickron is the main epidemic strain, asymptomatic people can reach 80% to 90%. The current proportion of asymptomatic people in Shanghai converges with data from other countries and regions."
