Ni Zan (1301-1374), whose genealogy name is Mingqi, whose original name is Ni Qi, whose courtesy name is Taiyu, and whose other name is Yuanzhen, his nickname is Yunlin, Yunlinzi, Jingmanmin, and Huanxiazi, from Dongting Chang Building, Wuxi, Jiangsu Province (now Yunlin Street, Xishan District). He is proficient in landscapes, good at calligraphy, outstanding poetry and prose, and has profound attainments in gardens, food and other aspects. His paintings are plain and innocent, sparse forests and slopes, secluded and elegant, simple and distant, and cherishing ink like gold, creating a generation of painting style of ink and landscape. His calligraphy is based on official script and has the style of the Song and Jin dynasties. Ni Zan, Huang Gongwang, Wang Meng and Wu Zhen, are collectively known as the "Four Masters of Yuan Dynasty". They are one of the top ten ancient Chinese painters. His paintings and theory are a monument in the history of Chinese culture and are listed as a world cultural celebrity by the British Encyclopedia of Great Britain.
In order to further promote Ni Yunlin's artistic thoughts, comprehensively display the social and cultural construction achievements of Ni Yunlin's hometown - Yunlin Street, Xishan District, Wuxi City, enrich the content and form of the Yunlin Cultural and Art Festival, enhance the cultural connotation of the "Ink and Wash Jiangnan, Poetry and Painting Yunlin" brand, and promote the vigorous development of the cultural, commercial and tourism industries in Xishan District and Yunlin Street. It is now decided to hold the "Ask Yunlin" - the first Yunlin Hometown Calligraphy and Painting Competition Works Exhibition, which will be held from now on to adult calligraphy and painting artists and enthusiasts from Wuxi.

1. Work requirements
1. Calligraphy works: The main content is the healthy and uplifting Ni Zan (Ni Yunlin) poems, couplets, etc. (You can use the poems of Ni Zan and Ni Yunlin on Baidu, and the author and title must be marked. Please attach an explanation to cursive script, seal script and seal carving works), and advocate writing of self-written poems and couplets related to Ni Yunlin and his art. Works whose content has nothing to do with Ni Yunlin and his art will not be selected.
2. Chinese painting works: Chinese painting works or works of Ni Yunlin's writing or artistic thoughts guided by Ni Yunlin's works or works of Ni Yunlin of a higher level (the original name of the works must be indicated). Authors are encouraged to go to Yunlin's hometown to collect folklore and create original works that reflect the new style of Yunlin's cultural heritage and ecological civilization construction.
3. Work specifications: Calligraphy and Chinese painting works are not greater than six feet of paper, not less than four feet of cross-cut (banners, dou squares), and all works are vertical; seal carving works are unified into four-foot vertical, with 8--15 square seal screens (2 squares of which are designated content, and can be selected from "Ink and Wash Jiangnan Poetry and Painting Cloud Forest", "Yunlin's Rhyme", and "Yibiao and Cursive"; rubbings attached to them are more than two); the sizes of oil paintings and print works are determined by the author's reference to the sizes of calligraphy and Chinese painting works, and each author shall not exceed 2 pieces.

3. Award settings
All submission works will be subject to the preliminary evaluation by the district calligraphy association and the presidium of the art association, and the organizer will supervise and review; and provincial and municipal experts are invited to implement the final evaluation. A total of 100 works of calligraphy and painting were selected, and 2 first prizes were awarded for each of the works, with a prize of 6,000 yuan each; 3 second prizes were awarded for each of the works, with a prize of 4,000 yuan each; 5 third prizes were awarded for each of the works, with a prize of 3,000 yuan each; 10 excellent prizes were awarded for each of the works, with a prize of 1,000 yuan each; 60 works were awarded for each of the collection fees. All award-winning and exhibition-entered works will be handed over to the organizer for collection and will be issued to the award-winning and exhibition-entered certificate.
4. Related instructions
All works in exhibition are mounted uniformly by the organizing committee. The submissions require the author's name, gender, ID number, work name, mailing address, contact number, etc. to be indicated in the lower right corner of the back of the work with a pencil. For seal script, cursive script and seal carving works, please attach paper to print the interpretation and submit it with the original manuscript.All award-winning and exhibitors will be invited to attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition in March 2021 and present the "Planning Collection". Exhibition location: Exhibition Hall of the Wuxi Creation Research Base of the Chinese Academy of Painting Academy of China (Inside the China Township Enterprise Museum, No. 111 Dongting Middle Road, Xishan District, Wuxi City).
There is no registration fee for this event, and all works that should be collected and not included in the exhibition will not be refunded. The owner and the organizer have the right to use the exhibition's participation and award-winning works for activities, theme albums, exhibitions and future government public welfare publicity related to this competition, and will not pay additional remuneration. The authors are requested to resolve and assume responsibility for all legal issues such as copyright, portrait rights, reputation rights and other legal issues related to the works.
The right to interpret this event belongs to the organizer. Those who participate in this solicitation event will be deemed to agree to comply with the rules of this solicitation event. All works that do not meet the requirements for call for papers will be disqualified from participating in the evaluation.
