This is definitely not just a spot for check-in in the Internet beauty. It is fun, nice, easy to shoot and exciting! The "Shigu Rentang Cultural and Creative Park" located in Tainan was formerly the Centennial Sugar Factory. Shigu Culture has revitalized and transformed it, adding shocking drum performances and various extreme activities, allowing tourists to have a new experience here. As a Tainan native, I feel like I wish I had met too late. I really like it here. The especially exciting and shocking theater performance is a double feast of auditory and vision, which is unforgettable for a long time.
Shigu Rentang Cultural and Creative Park was formerly the Taitang Sugar Factory, which was established during the Japanese administration and has a history of a hundred years. In the sugar industry gradually declined and lagged behind, the park was silent for a long time until it was revitalized by Shigu Culture in 2005, retaining the historical trajectory and memory of the old sugar factory, injecting shocking drum performances and various extreme experience activities. In 2007, it returned to everyone with the first international art village of drum themes in Asia.
ever I return to Tainan, I am always hugged by the enthusiastic sun, and I won’t feel cold even in this bleak winter day. Taking advantage of the three-day New Year's Day holiday, I chose a day to come to Shigu Rentang Cultural and Creative Park. I didn't expect it to be more interesting than I thought! I believe that friends who have been here will definitely be full of question marks after getting the map. Where should we start with so many facilities and so many buildings?
Dream Candy Theater
[Meng Candy Factory 1F] Tickets for the Shigu Cultural and Creative Park include a performance of Dream Candy Theater, each at 10:30 and 15:00 every day. It is the most exciting and unforgettable of all activities! The theater is built in an ancient warehouse, creating a psychedelic stage effect with gorgeous lights. The magnificent drum sound and the light and elegant flute sound play a series of shocking movements. In addition, the performers are also performers. In addition to letting the instruments sound, they also tell stories with their bodies;
This is a double feast of visual and auditory, leading the audience to travel through ancient times to experience the beauty of Chinese music. Before visiting the Ten Drums, I really didn't expect that one day I would be deeply attracted by the sound of the drums. The performance was so shocking and I had goose bumps. Hogwarts Magic Academy scene
[Dream Sugar Factory 2F] This is the latest scene built by Ten Drums in 2021. It takes the Magic Academy in Harry Potter as the prototype to create a dream shooting site. The book wall is not a wallpaper, but real wood and books are fake books made by Paulilong, making the scene more realistic. Friends who want to take pictures recommend coming here as soon as the park is opened, so that they can take pictures of the sky! In the same place, this area also has transparent climbing walls and steel battles, both of which are free experiences.
Paradise Road/ Swing on Paradise
[Penthouse of Mengsugar Factory] After shooting the Magic Academy scene in Mengsugar Factory 2F, you can go directly to the top floor to walk Paradise Road and play Paradise Swing. This is the highest point of the entire park, equivalent to 11 stories high, with an endless view, and you can see the panoramic view of the Qimei Museum from afar. The paradise swing is not only beautiful but also exciting. The higher the swing, it is like flying in the air. The swing can be controlled by itself. Those who like stimulation may wish to challenge the limit.
Spiderman/Flying stool/Sugar crystal fall
[Mengsugar Factory 1-4F] Spiderman, Feitian stool, and Sugar crystal fall stool. These three items are all located in Mengsugar Factory. The picture above shows two challenges of Feitian stool and Spiderman. I personally push Feitian stool, which is a relatively peaceful experience among the three items. Sliding from one building to another, two times in total. Girls who want to experience cannot wear skirts!
Spider-man climbed up from the first floor to the fourth floor. The more he climbed, the weaker his legs would become. He would be weaker and weaker when he went up or down, he would need the courage to jump. The friends of the challenger's picture above kept calling him with confidence by the window, but he gave up later! The sugar crystal falls is a free fall, jumping down from a 7-story high place, which is the most terrifying thing, so I didn’t see many people challenging it.
There are three huge circular buildings in front of the Honey Factory, which are from the rear passage of the Magic Academy set. In the past, it was a honey storage tank, but now it is converted into a cafe, a children's playroom, and an exhibition hall. The appearance retains its historical memory. The rusty and mottled totem makes this place look like a lost world, with another unique beauty.
Chimney slide
[Building next to the big chimney] Slide down from a five-story high place, which is fun and exciting. One person is limited to play once, and it is a free facility. The experiencer needs to wear a robe that looks like a bag, wrap his whole body inside and only exposes his head, wears a hard hat and gloves to ensure that he will not be injured; the sliding speed is really fast, and the second half makes people want to scream.
Sky Trail
There is a century-old banyan tree next to Mengtang Factory. The sky trail is built around it. The starting point is the first floor and the end point is the third floor of Mengtang Factory. When visiting the park, you can find that the path here is specially designed, making it difficult for tourists to see the place at a glance. You may have no choice but to go back to the ground halfway. You need to turn around and walk forward, making people feel like they are exploring it.
Drum Beat Experience
After watching the wonderful performance of Mengtang Theater, do you really want to experience the feeling of playing drums? The park has a simple drumbeat teaching course every half an hour, allowing tourists to use drum sticks to beat and practice a simple song, which is suitable for children or adults to experience.
Outdoor Archery Field
Archery is quite fun. I have played real archery before, but I have forgotten all my postures and skills. The archery experience here only provides three arrows for one person. The arrow is made of suction cups, not real arrows, so that tourists can just try the feel, and they feel it is not satisfying, haha.
Catering
There are multiple places to eat in the park, the most beautiful of which is honey coffee and sugar BAR. Sugar BAR is open after 2 pm, so I didn’t go in and take a look. These photos were taken in Honey Coffee. It is located in one of the three honey storage tanks mentioned in the front of the article. The internal space is cylindrical, the stairs swirl up against the wall, and directly above is a transparent roof. The sunlight falls from the top, and the light and shadow are so beautiful! If you look closely, you will find that there are totems of twelve zodiac signs on the roof. Each star is replaced by a small light bulb. It is inconspicuous but cannot be ignored. I like the unique design.
What I feel is less satisfied with is the discount on catering. Each person’s ticket includes two catering coupons. One coupon can only be used for one "set meal", and a single item cannot be discounted. We had a meal at Shigu Restaurant at noon. We found it not bad but the portion was not large. The rice was gone before the dishes were served, so we were a little disappointed. In the afternoon, we ordered an afternoon tea set meal at Honey Coffee. Half a cup of cakes and slightly iced drinks were filled with ice cubes and handmade biscuits were delicious. Overall, the catering needs to be improved.
Other
meng sugar factory still has many machines and equipment that have not been removed. The pipelines and interiors of the old sugar factory are retained. The stairs lead up and down to an unknown field. It is like a exploring in the factory. It is quite interesting.Savor every corner, the dim factory and the ancient atmosphere of heavy metal, the pictures taken have another unique beauty.

Shigu Rentang Cultural Park covers an area of more than 7 hectares. It takes a lot of time to walk around. In addition to the experiences of adults and children, the interior of the park is well organized, and the old tree roots are full of green. Walking here is comfortable and comfortable to bask in the warm winter sun. The experience mentioned above is just the tip of the iceberg, and there are more projects that are not listed, so let’s wait for everyone to experience it in person!

It is said that the park will be more beautiful after being cleaned up at night. I will buy a starlight ticket to enjoy it next time. However, it is recommended that friends who come here for the first time do not buy a starlight ticket, because starlight tickets may not be able to see the performances of Mengtang Theater, which is a must-see performance.
