According to AP , Musk's son, who filed the application, was originally named Xavier Musk, turned 18 in April this year. He filed a petition with the Los Angeles Superior Court the day after he became an adult, applying to change his name to Vivian Jenna Wilson and change his gender. She listed gender identity and disgust for her father as reasons for applying.
She wrote in the petition: "I don't want to live with my biological father in any way or form, nor do I want to have any relationship with it."
Judge Rafal Angke approved the petition in Santa Monica Court, and the hearing originally scheduled for this Friday was also cancelled. A new birth certificate will be issued for the applicant to reflect the change, the court order said.
Vivian will now legally use the last name of her biological mother Justin Wilson. Justin Wilson was Musk's first wife, married Musk in 2000 and divorced in 2008. The couple gave birth to six sons in eight years of marriage, and the first child, Alexander, died unexpectedly at 10 weeks old. Later, the two gave birth to twins and triplets through test tubes, and Xavier was one of the twins.
