By far, naturally is the best place to learn for most of us. It is crucial to consciously introduce interest in nature in design thinking. Encouraging toddlers to move in different ways by envisioning multiple terrain structures of buildings may be one of the most basic ways to help them fully explore their physical and cognitive abilities. The geological diversity of nature provides us with interesting clues, allowing us to pair 4 planned areas with their inspired concept areas.
Entrance Hall (Tunnel of Fog and Trees) Inclined film, wooden floors, walls, storage cabinets and arches together shape a solid, warm and charming entrance. Low impact flooring replaces hardwood flooring to prevent kids from getting hurt by excitement and playfulness. The elevated wooden platform of the transition hall (mountain and cave) creates a high ground for crawling while creating a private hidden space under it. One end of the elevated terrain is actually connected to the main game area and the other end is visually connected to the outdoor area.
Outdoor Covered Area (Dun Oasis) This area is specially housed in the coolest eastward front of the building, where children can jump into the sand pit, cheer on the green grass-covered trampoline, and watch the four-legged creatures run in the puppy garden below. Customized sponge plate rings surrounded by sunken ball pits in the main game area (island lake). The focus is on a continuous cycle created around the playroom and islands to fill the irrepressible play of children.
Multiple skylights are evenly placed in the main game area to simulate natural light and sunlight directions. As the exterior wall with the strongest light in the south and the west, large glass curtain walls and floor-to-ceiling pixel-sensitive screen systems are used to maintain visual connection between the inside and the outside, while reducing solar radiation heat acquisition and enhancing the sound absorption characteristics of the playground. The square cells placed on the top are converted into a circle through 21 variation increments. As the screen reaches the ground, the aperture also increases.
These units are loosely worn together by vertical slings, making it tactile and ensuring full-day projection of the screen. At the same time, the complex light and shadow presentation is surprisingly consistent with the discoveries in nature. As part of the overall picture, images of natural landscapes and wildlife are constrainedly printed on each unit. The size and subtle design of the screen require the audience to take a few steps back, because only the right distance and perspective can make the large picture clearer. The fusion of natural environments and challenging playgrounds can be subtle and profound, creating an unusual combination of calm and stimulating, which is an ideal environment for fostering curiosity and concentration during a critical period of a person's cognitive and social development.
