The new Corsa is completely different from the previous model. This certainly means it brings the entire technical background of the group, more specifically the Peugeot 208.

Engine, transmission and platform are a common secret, they come from France. The recipes and ingredients may be French, but the chef (see… Design) is German. So he kept lying on his back, or rather, his strict and cautious lines of movement betrayed his German heritage, and from a distance he was Opel's design.

Of course, the suspension and steering wheel are adjusted so that Corsa can achieve the required differentiation. It gives you the feeling that the Corsa has tighter suspension and harder to adjust, thus lacking that stately and comfortable 208 thrust. The cost is evident in transverse anomalies and strong dry reactions of the rear axle.

At the same time, we cannot ignore the fact that enough work has been done in the field of quality, so the result is uniform and high quality and shows that it is Opel. The interior does not have the slightest design sense of the Peugeot 208 brothers, retaining a very familiar image. However, the data quality in this category is very high and lists Corsa as the top small product.

Sport 3-spoke leather steering wheel is standard for our beta Elegance, which also includes electric handbrake, Greek menus in the multimedia system, a 7-inch screen of the infotainment system Mirrorlink system, and has a very good performance audio system. Small items have space, but not a lot, and they are relatively small, so the space for rear passengers is not the car's strength.

The new Corsa does not have the most outgoing features of Peugeot 208. It's very different from the French model, and that's not bad at all. The 1.2-liter 100 hp 3-cylinder turbo engine has the necessary power and required torque, starting at low levels every time you ask, and it’s only very high when approaching the speed limit, and you’ll feel the lack of 30 extra horsepower to deliver the most powerful engine of 130 horsepower.

helper is of course an excellent 8-speed automatic transmission, which only shows some slight slow reaction when starting. In fact, engine transmission response is greatly improved by choosing a motion drive over an Eco or Normal, from the low switch on the console to next to the electric parking brake. There is also manual operation of the gearbox, with paddles behind the steering wheel allowing the operator to slightly bypass the control module with full control.

Of course, the new Corsa is still the most interesting driving super mini car we have driven for a long time. However, in terms of equipment, it is considered complete, and the elegant version includes 16-inch alloy wheels and a small rear spoiler, as well as some safety systems.

Overall, the new Corsa, especially its automatic version, has many advantages. Real-time engine, working frame and overall upgraded profiles are perfectly combined with the easy driving provided by the automatic transmission. But its main advantage is the great value for money that comes with it, as despite the relatively high price of the €18,420 automatic version, it is still cheaper than the corresponding recommendations of competitors’ automatic transmissions, so we are sure we will continue to enjoy the preferences of the Greek public for a long time to come.
