According to reports, in 2021, Zhongshan City launched a comprehensive water treatment project for inland rivers and rivers that did not meet the standards. 37 rivers in Minzhong Street were included in the rectification scope. The construction content includes the construction of a 146-kilometer pipeline network, the construction of a new sewage treatment plant with a daily treatment scale of 50,000 tons (i.e. the third phase of Minzhong Street Sewage Treatment Plant), and the rectification measures such as live water circulation, coastline restoration, pipeline network cleaning and maintenance, and water informationization were implemented. According to the survey, the current situation of Minzhong Street serves about 104,000 people, and the sewage generated in the entire street is 30,300 tons/day. It is predicted that the sewage volume will reach 41,500 tons/day in 2025, and the sewage volume will reach 58,600 tons/day in 2035. According to the long-term plan, the first and second phases of the sewage treatment plant will be demolished and renovated. The third phase of the Minzhong Street Sewage Treatment Plant, which was started to be built this time, has a designed treatment capacity of 50,000 tons/day.
