Recently, my family has been loved by the flu and have won the prize!
First of all, last Wednesday morning, the kindergarten teacher called me and told me that Jay had a fever and asked me to take him back to see a doctor. As a result, I took Jay home to take her temperature at 39.3 degrees, wow! It was so high, so I quickly sent it to the pediatric department I often went to. Because Jay had only a fever and had no obvious cough or runny nose at the beginning, she only had a slight redness in her throat and vomiting (I vomited because the fever was very high). So the doctor treated her fever and gastroenteritis. Later, when she went home, the fever subsided. The next day, the doctor helped Jay with a quick screening (300 yuan at your own expense). As a result, influenza A was positive and she had to take gram of influenza for treatment (this also costs 600 yuan at your own expense). I asked the lady at the counter why she didn't pay this last year. She said that the Health Insurance Bureau had subsidies last year, but it was gone this year, so it was all at your own expense (so expensive!). After going back for a day, Jay's condition improved a lot. She stopped burning and was in good spirits.
On Friday, my sister started to have a mild cough and took her to see her on Saturday. The doctor said that her brother had influenza A and her sister had a high chance of winning. So she was like her brother and got back to eat it. Her sister had no fever, but her dry cough was only coughing intermittently. The brother and sister just rested at home until today before going to school. Where is Dad! I had a fever on Saturday morning, so I helped him get an ENT department. The doctor prescribed medicine and took the injections home. The symptoms eased. If I didn’t have a fever, I would cough and runny nose. I went to the clinic again and prescribed medicine and came back to take it, but I still coughed like my sister.
On Wednesday morning, my father had a fever and had a runny nose again. He went to the ENT department for a consultation and asked them if they had a quick screening. They said: No, they would have to go to a large hospital to help the patient. I want my father to rest and take medicine to see if he is still uncomfortable, we will go to the big hospital for a visit.
After this influenza situation, I searched the Internet for relevant information. I briefly sorted out the relevant information and provided myself with reference to netizens in need!
What is influenza?
Influenza is an acute respiratory disease caused by the "influenza virus". Systemic symptoms at the beginning of the disease are serious, including fever, headache, muscle pain, fatigue, runny nose, sore throat and cough, which are enough to affect work ability. In patients with high-risk groups, their serious malfunctions may also lead to death, and it is estimated that about 1 person will die for every 5,000 to 10,000 patients.
Identify the flu virus?
Influenza virus is an RNA virus with three types: A, B, and C. Among them, type A virus is more likely to mutate. If a new virus subtype appears, it will cause a pandemic around the world; type B virus will undergo a relatively mild mutant, while type C virus rarely causes diseases in humans. Type A viruses are divided into different subtypes according to their two main antigens (HA, NA). In the past century, the pandemic has occurred in humans and have become the current seasonal influenza types, including H1N1, H2N2 and H3N2.
How is influenza transmitted?
(1) Influenza is mainly transmitted through droplets, and the virus is transmitted to neighboring people through coughing, sneezing, etc., especially in confined spaces and air.
(2) Because influenza viruses can survive in cold and low-degree environments for several hours, they may also be transmitted through contact. Therefore, paying attention to personal hygiene and hand washing are important matters in preventing infection.
The incubation period and contagious period of influenza?
The so-called incubation period refers to the period when it is infected to the onset of the disease (symptoms appear), and the incubation period of the influenza is short, usually 1 to 3 days; adults suffering from influenza may be transmitted to others from the day before the onset of the disease to 3 to 7 days after the onset of the disease, while children will still be contagious until 7 days after the onset of the disease.
: The season of severe illness caused by influenza and influenza?
Taiwan is located in the subtropical zone and influenza can occur all year round, but it is still more likely to occur in winter. During the year, the number of cases has gradually increased since late November, and reached its peak from December to January of the following year, generally lasting until the Spring Festival in the Agricultural Calendar. The epidemic period may be extended to February and March of the following year; while local epidemics and sporadic cases may occur every month.
Symptoms and contagious symptoms of influenza
(1) Severe systemic symptoms will occur after infecting the influenza virus, such as acute fever (ear temperature≧38℃), headache, cough, sore throat and muscle aches throughout the body.
(2) In addition to causing systemic symptoms, influenza may also cause serious malfunctions. Severe diseases of influenza arise in the elderly and children, as well as those suffering from heart, lung, renal and metabolic diseases or immune insufficiency. The most common disease is pneumonia, some are caused by the virus itself, some are secondary bacterial infections, and others include otitis media, sinusitis, encephalitis, brain lesions, Ray's syndrome and other serious secondary infections.
Things to note after being infected with the influenza virus
1. If you experience respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, etc., you should wear a mask and seek medical attention as soon as possible.
2. When you are sick, you should not go to work or class as much as possible.
3. When you are infected with influenza, you should rest more and drink more water.
4. Influenza is a viral disease, so antibiotics cannot be effectively treated. Therefore, antibiotics should not be taken by themselves or required, and medications should be taken as prescribed by doctors.
Influenza and cold are two different things. Although they are both viral infections, their pathogens are different and their symptoms are severity. The following table lists the differences between the two:
Influenza (Influenza, Flu) | Common Cold (Common Cold)
Pathogen | Influenza viruses are divided into three types: A, B, and C. In addition, because it is easy to change, there are about 200 viruses that are prone to pandemics | that can cause colds, including more common ones: rhinovirus, parainfluenza virus, respiratory cell fusion virus, adenovirus, etc.
Incubation period | 1-3 days | About 1 day
Infectious type | 1. Regardless of age 2. Symptoms occur suddenly, usually cause systemic symptoms, and may have serious synthesis, or even death | 1. Regardless of age 2. Symptoms gradually occur, usually only local upper respiratory tract symptoms, mostly without serious combined symptoms
clinical symptoms | 1. High fever, sometimes accompanied by chills; fever may last for 3 days 2. Usually accompanied by severe headache 3. Systemic muscle soreness and joint pain, there will be obvious and continuous fatigue and weakness; some young children will have calf muscle tenderness | 1. Fever is rarely seen, and if there is, the body temperature will only rise slightly 2. Occasionally there will be mild headache 3. Mild or lesser
disease course | 1~2 weeks | can recover
complications | pneumonia, sinusitis, bronchitis, otitis media, myocarditis, brain lesions, encephalitis, Ray's syndrome, etc. | rarely experiences complications
Treatment methods | Treatment methods | Treatment methods and supportive methods | According to the prescription of doctors, colds can most likely be cured by themselves. Supportive therapy |
Prevention methods | 1. 2. Wash your hands frequently. When the flu is epidemic, avoid crowded situations and reduce the chance of viral infection. 3. Maintain normal work and rest and good living habits in normal times to improve self-immunity | 1. Wash your hands frequently. When the cold is epidemic, avoid crowded situations and reduce the chance of viral infection. 2. Maintain normal work and rest and good living habits in normal times to improve self-immunity |
