Kexili, Qinghai Province, China was approved to be included in the World Natural Heritage List at the World Heritage Conference held in Krakow, Poland on July 7, 2017. So far, China has owned 51 World Heritage Sites. It is also the largest world natural heritage site in my country.
often have a strong longing for a certain place because of a movie. "Chongqing Forest" is the Chongqing Building in Hong Kong, "I May Not Love You" is the water cloud suspension bridge in Tai'an Township, "Miaoli County " is the water cloud suspension bridge in Tai'an Township, "The Garden of Words" is the Tokyo Shinjuku Imperial Garden... ...
About Kokoxili, because Lu Chuan 's movie "Kokoxili", the movie is a bit rough, but it has a strong impact. The lonely and desolate Qinghai-Tibet Plateau , the desolate and mysterious no-man's land, the tragic ritual of the sky burial, the bloody corpse of Tibetan antelope...... The smallness of people is, the grandness of nature.
Stills from "Koke Xili"
When I finally had the chance to walk on this mysterious land, I realized that the motherland really had such a vast and magnificent scenery. Although it is just a quick glance at the edge, strictly speaking, Kokoxili cannot be regarded as a tourist destination at all. Its beauty cannot be appreciated by taking a quick look. But the pictures in the movies and books have become three-dimensional because of this rush.
Some people say "Tibet is a disease that cannot be cured without going to it", some people say "Beautiful Xinjiang, the heaven is in the center", some people say "One time you go to Qinghai, you will have ten trips", Kokoxili is the intersection of Tibet, Qinghai and Xinjiang, the most beautiful "girl" on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the paradise in heaven, the last pure land in the world that countless people long for, and there is no second in the world.
Kexili Nature Reserve is located in the territory of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in southwestern Qinghai, but the entire Kexili area mentioned includes the "Qiangtang Grassland" area in northern Tibet, the area south of the Kunlun Mountains in Qinghai, and the areas adjacent to Tibet and Qinghai in Xinjiang.
Kekexili's climate is severe and natural conditions are harsh. Humans cannot live for a long time. It is known as the "forbidden zone of life". It is one of the four unmanned areas in China. However, because of this, it has created unique living conditions for plateau wild animals and has become a "park for wild animals". At the same time, it is also one of the most perfectly preserved areas in the world with the original ecological environment and is known as the "third pole of the world".
Here, you can appreciate the towering snow-capped mountains, the strange glaciers, the crystal lakes, the vast grasslands, and the vast Gobi Desert.
Here, you can experience the roller coaster-like ups and downs of Qinghai-Tibet Line and the great Qinghai-Tibet Railway.
Here, you will encounter countless creatures of wild yak , Tibetan antelope, wild donkey, white-lipped deer, and brown bear.
7 to September is the best travel season in Kokoxili, a natural summer resort, green meadows and star-spotted wild flowers, making this wilderness full of vitality.
travel in Yushu areas such as Kekexili. Cars are as important as food. Although there are shuttle buses from Xining to various prefectures and counties in Yushu every day, this land with a sparsely populated land is best equipped with an off-road vehicle with superior performance (can be rented or chartered).
Kekexili is located between Tibet, Xinjiang and Qinghai. There are different routes to choose from. You can take the Qinghai-Tibet Line to return to Lhasa, or the Qinghai Grand Ring Line, and many routes can be chosen. If you take the Qinghai-Tibet Line, you can take the train , Golmud City first, and then rent a car.
The scenic spots that cannot be missed on the Qinghai-Tibet Line

||Kekexili Nature Reserve
Qinghai Kekexili National Nature Reserve is located in the western part of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, with a total coverage area of about 6 million hectares. It is one of the most perfectly preserved areas in the world with the primitive ecological environment, and one of the largest, highest altitude and richest wildlife resources in China.
||Namcu
Namcu is the largest lake in Tibet, the highest saltwater lake in the world, and it is also the holy place in the minds of pilgrims. It is said that Namcuo was the daughter of Indra and the wife of Nianqing Tanggula. She was regarded as a must-visit sacred place by good men and women, and has been pilgrims from ancient times to the present. The five islands in the lake are called the incarnations of the five Buddhas. Anyone who goes to Shenhu to worship the Buddha incense will worship them devoutly.
||Nianqing Tanggula Mountain
To the south of Namtuo is the snow-covered Nianqing Tanggula Mountain. Nianqing Tangla is the three major sacred mountains in Tibet (Gondise, Nianqing Tangla, and Ma Xueshan). It is said that Namcuo and Nianqing Tangla were once a loving couple. The first impression is that it is majestic. Of course, such a snow-capped mountain can only be seen from afar, so it is impossible to climb up.
|| Jokhang Temple
0 The reason why Lhasa is known as a "holy land" is related to this Buddhist temple. The temple was originally called "Rhasa", but later Rasa became the name of the city and evolved into today's "Lhasa". So until now, Tibetans still like to call the Bakhun Street generation, which is mainly composed of Jokhang Temple, "Lhasa", and the Tibetan word "Lhasa" means "Buddha Land". This oldest temple in Tibet is the heart of religion in Tibet and even the entire Tibetan region.
|| Heimahe Township
This section of Heimahe River is the most beautiful section of Qinghai Lake , and the Heimahe River on the west bank of the lake is one of the best places to watch the sunrise in Qinghai Lake. You must get up early, it is also very cold and you need to wear a lot. Then I waited for the sunrise bit by bit, and watched the sun rise from afar bit by bit, and the feeling was really beautiful.
|| Sun and Moon Mountain
Sun and Moon Mountain is located in the southeast of Qinghai Lake and is a very important dividing line in my country's natural geography. The fields on the east side of the Sun and Moon Mountain are fertile, and the scenery on the south side of the Yangtze River is like a vast grassland on the west side, and cattle and sheep are in full bloom, which is a scene outside the frontier. There is such a big contrast on both sides of the mountain, which is rare in China.
||Daotanghe
Daotanghe originates from the Chahan grassland on the western foot of Sun and Moon Mountain. It is about 3,300 meters above sea level and has a total length of about 40 kilometers. It flows into Qinghai Lake from east to west, so it is called Daotanghe River. It is the smallest branch in the Qinghai Lake water system. The river is winding and twisting, and the river water is clear and looks as magical and charming as a bright ribbon falling on the grassland.
||Dongguan Grand Mosque
The Great Mosque is a famous building in the ancient city of Xining. It is located on the south side of Dongguan Street, Xining. It is one of the Great Mosques in the northwest my country. It can accommodate more than 3,000 Muslims for worship at the same time. You can see the most orderly worship here.
Some people say that Kokoxili may be the "last pure land of mankind", and it is difficult to maintain the most primitive state of nature, but the countless efforts and sacrifices behind this state are the most shocking power of Kokoxili.
Lu Chuan said in an interview that all he saw in Kekexili was full of despair.
But there must always be hope for life, just like getting better and better...
But the purpose of applying for the World Heritage is to better protect, not destroy.
When passing by Kekexili, I found that there were small piles of garbage in some places, including beverage bottles and construction waste, the most were plastic bags and beverage bottles. The vast majority of the garbage comes from tourists who drive and ride on National Highway 109.
I think the only memories that should be taken away by real travel, and only footprints are left.
