2020s to the present, especially around 2000, a wave of university mergers broke out in many places in my country. A lot of universities in China have undergone mergers, reorganizations, upgrades and changes, and a large number of new school names have emerged. Strongest universities such as Zhejiang University, Wuhan University, and Jilin University have also joined the wave.
This merger and name change has caused some schools to be unable to judge their location based on their school names, such as Beihua University; some schools cannot judge their advantageous majors based on their school names, such as North China University of Technology, but they have quite powerful medical majors. This also caused some junior colleges to immediately enter undergraduate degree after the merger.
Today, the editor will sort out the changes in Hebei Province’s universities in this wave.
1Yanshan University
1985 to 1997 Northeast Heavy Machinery College moved from Harbin, Hebei to Qinhuangdao, Hebei, and was renamed "Yanshan University" in 1997. In 2000, Hebei Light Industry Management School (Technical Technical College) was incorporated.
2Hebei University
2000, Hebei Provincial Technical Supervision School (Technical Technical Supervision School) was incorporated, and Hebei University Quality and Technical Supervision School was established. In December 2002, Baoding Health School, Hebei School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Baoding Economic and Management Cadre School were merged into Hebei Provincial Employees' Medical College (undergraduate), and was merged into Hebei University as a whole with the end of 2004, and Hebei University Medical College was established. In 2005, Hebei Provincial Employees' Medical College Affiliated Hospital was merged and renamed Hebei University Affiliated Hospital.
3 Hebei University of Technology
Hebei University of Technology , on February 16, 1995, it was renamed Hebei University of Technology. On May 20, 1992, Hebei University of Technology established a branch in Langfang - Hebei University of Technology Branch. In 1995, it was renamed as Hebei University of Technology Branch and in 2006 it was renamed as Hebei University of Technology Langfang Branch.
4Hebei Normal University
In June 1996, the original Hebei Normal University (now east campus), Hebei Normal University (now west campus), Hebei Education College (former west campus), and Hebei Normal University Vocational and Technical Normal University merged to form the new Hebei Normal University.
5Hebei Agricultural University
1995, the original Hebei Agricultural University and the former Hebei Forestry College were merged into the new Hebei Agricultural University, and it was expanded to build the West Campus based on the original campus of the Forestry College. In March 2000, the former Hebei Aquatic Products School was merged into Hebei Agricultural University and established the College of Fisheries of Hebei Agricultural University; in July, the former Hebei Animal Husbandry and Science School was merged into Hebei Agricultural University. In 2006, the College of Fisheries of Hebei Agricultural University was renamed Hebei Agricultural University Ocean College ( Qinhuangdao Campus). In 2011, Hebei Agricultural University Bohai Campus began to recruit students.
6Hebei Medical University
1995, the original Hebei Medical College, Hebei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine , and Shijiazhuang Medical College were merged and renamed Hebei Medical University. In 2013, Hebei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine resumed its independent establishment.
7Hebei University of Science and Technology
In May 1996, Hebei Light Chemical Engineering College and Hebei University of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (undergraduate) merged into Hebei University of Science and Technology. In the same year, Hebei Textile Workers University was merged. In 2002, Hebei Textile Industry School (technical secondary school) was incorporated into Hebei University of Science and Technology. In 2003, the People's Police College was separated from Hebei University of Science and Technology and established Hebei Public Security Police Vocational College . In December 2014, Tangshan Branch of Hebei University of Science and Technology (specialty) was incorporated into Tangshan College .
8Shijiazhuang Railway University
1993, the technical secondary school department was demarcated from Shijiazhuang Railway College and established the Shijiazhuang Railway Engineering School (now name: Shijiazhuang Railway Vocational and Technical College). In March 2010, Shijiazhuang Railway College was renamed Shijiazhuang Railway University.
9Hebei University of Economics and Trade
1995, Hebei University of Finance and Economics, Hebei University of Economics, and Hebei Business College merged to form Hebei University of Economics and Trade. In 1998, Hebei School of Finance and Economics (technical secondary school) was incorporated into Hebei University of Economics and Trade.In 2000, Hebei Business School (technical secondary school) was incorporated into Hebei University of Economics and Trade. In 2002, Hebei Electronics Industry School was incorporated into Hebei University of Economics and Trade.
10 North China University of Science and Technology
On April 5, 1995, Tangshan University of Engineering and Technology was renamed Hebei University of Science and Technology; in May 2004, he was renamed Hebei University of Science and Technology . In May 2010, Hebei University of Science and Technology and North China Coal Medical College (undergraduate) were officially merged and formed into Hebei United University . On February 13, 2015, it was renamed North China University of Science and Technology, and the former Hebei United University Qian'an College was renamed North China University of Science and Technology Qian'an College (junior degree).
11Hebei University of Geosciences
1996, Hebei University of Geosciences was renamed Shijiazhuang University of Economics , and in March 2016, he was renamed Hebei University of Geosciences.
12 Hebei University of Engineering
1990 North China Water Conservancy and Hydropower College moved to Zhengzhou, Henan, and the headquarters changed North China Water Conservancy and Hydropower College ( Handan ) . In 1993 Hebei Agricultural University (Handan Branch) established Handan Agricultural College; in 1993 Hebei Medical College (Handan Branch) established Handan Medical College. In 1995, Hebei Coal Construction Engineering College was renamed Hebei Institute of Architecture and Science and Technology . In April 2002, the Handan branch of North China Institute of Water Conservancy and Hydropower was incorporated into Hebei Institute of Architecture and Science and Technology. In 2003, the above-mentioned schools merged to form Hebei University of Engineering . In 2006, Hebei University of Engineering was officially renamed Hebei University of Engineering.
13 Hebei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
1993, the Shijiazhuang area health school was renamed Shijiazhuang Health School . In May 1995, Hebei Medical College, Hebei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Shijiazhuang Medical College were merged into Hebei Medical University. On November 10, 2009, Shijiazhuang Health School was incorporated into Hebei Medical University, which is Hebei Medical University Xishan Campus . On April 18, 2013, the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine resumed its independent establishment. The former Hebei Medical University West Campus (the original site of the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine) was renamed the Juquan Campus of Hebei Medical University Juquan Campus, and the former Xishan Campus of Hebei Medical University (the original site of the School of Shijiazhuang Health School) was renamed the Xingyuan Campus of Hebei Medical University.
14 Hebei Normal University of Science and Technology
Hebei Agricultural Technology Normal University, renamed Hebei Normal University in 2003
15Chengde Medical College
In June 2001, the former Institute of Specialty Sericulture Research of Hebei Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences was incorporated into Chengde Medical College.
16 Hebei Northern College
In September 2003, three provincial universities, Zhangjiakou Medical College (now the West Campus), Zhangjiakou Normal College (now the East Campus) and Zhangjiakou Agricultural College (now the South Campus).
17 Beihua Academy of Aerospace Industry
On July 13, 2004, North China Academy of Aerospace Industry was upgraded to an undergraduate college and was renamed Beihua Academy of Aerospace Industry.
18Hebei University of Finance
1992, Baoding Financial College was renamed Baoding Financial College . In 2007, it was promoted to an undergraduate college and renamed Hebei University of Finance.
19 North China University of Science and Technology
On January 30, 1993, North China Mining College was unveiled. In 1998, the College of Nonferrous Metals Management Cadres was incorporated into the North China Mining College. On March 14, 2002, it was promoted to an undergraduate college and renamed North China University of Science and Technology; in March of the same year, the former National Production Safety Supervision and Administration Bureau (National Coal Mine Safety Supervision Bureau) Party School was officially moved to North China University of Science and Technology.
20 Disaster Prevention and Science and Technology College
1985, the earthquake technology junior college was established. In 1992, it was renamed the Disaster Prevention Technology College. In 2006, it was promoted to an undergraduate college and renamed the School of Disaster Prevention and Science and Technology.
21Hebei University of Architectural Engineering
No changes occurred during this period
22Baoding College
1998Baoding Normal College and Baoding Education College were merged. In 1999, Baoding Normal School was incorporated into Baoding Normal College. In March 2007, it was upgraded to an undergraduate level and renamed Baoding College.
23 Tangshan Normal University
In April 1984, Tangshan Normal College and Hebei Tangshan Education College were merged. In March 2000, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was rebuilt into an undergraduate college and renamed Tangshan Normal University.
24 Langfang Normal College
In March 2000, Langfang Normal College, Langfang Education College, and Langfang Normal School merged to establish Langfang Normal College and upgrade it to an ordinary undergraduate normal college. In 2005, Hebei Vocational and Technical College and Langfang Normal University merged to form a new Langfang Normal University.
25 Shijiazhuang College
In December 1995, the new Shijiazhuang Normal College (Shijiazhuang Education College) was merged by Shijiazhuang Normal College and Shijiazhuang First and Second Education Colleges to form a new Shijiazhuang Normal College (Shijiazhuang Education College). On May 17, 2004, he was upgraded to undergraduate and renamed Shijiazhuang College.
26 Tangshan College
In July 1992, Tangshan University was renamed Tangshan College. In March 1996, he started to jointly organize undergraduate majors with Southwest Jiaotong University. In March 2002, Tangshan College, Tangshan Branch of Southwest Jiaotong University and Tangshan Workers University merged to form an undergraduate-level general undergraduate school: Tangshan College . On June 12, the original Tangshan Building Materials Industry School was merged into Tangshan College (East Campus). In December 2014, Tangshan Branch of Hebei University of Science and Technology was incorporated into Tangshan College. In 2015, Tangshan International Economic and Trade School was incorporated into Tangshan College.
27 Handan College
On January 20, 2001, former Handan Normal College, Handan First Education College, Second Education College, and Handan Preschool Teachers were merged, and Hebei Wu'an Normal School was used as a branch of the teacher vocational school to form a new Handan Normal College. It was rebuilt into an undergraduate college on May 17, 2004 and was renamed Handan College.
28 Hengshui College
In October 1998, Hengshui Normal College and Hengshui Education College merged to establish a new Hengshui Normal College . On May 17, 2004, Hengshui Normal College was upgraded to Hengshui College, and Hengshui Normal College (branch) was renamed Hengshui College (branch). In 1992, Hengshui District Economic Management Cadre School was incorporated into Hengshui District Agricultural Mechanization School, and was renamed Hengshui Industrial School in 2000. In 2009, Hengshui College (branch) and Hengshui Industrial School were incorporated into Hengshui College.
29Cangzhou Normal University
In May 1991, Cangzhou Regional Education College was incorporated into Cangzhou Normal College. In September 2001, Cangzhou Normal School, Cangzhou City Teachers' Continuing School, and Cangzhou Agricultural Machinery Engineering School were merged into Cangzhou Normal College. In March 2010, it was promoted to an undergraduate-level general university and renamed Cangzhou Normal College.
30Hebei National Normal University
In 1992, Chengde Normal College was renamed Chengde National Normal College . In 1999, Chengde National Normal School and Chengde Regional Education College (some functions and resources) were incorporated into Chengde National Normal College. In March 2010, it was upgraded and renamed Hebei National Normal University.
31 Xingtai College
In March 1996, Xingtai Normal College, Xingtai Education College and Xingtai Economic and Management Cadre School merged to establish Xingtai Normal College . In 2002, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed Xingtai College.
32 Zhangjiakou College
In June 2004, the original Zhangjiakou Education College , Zhangjiakou Finance and Economics School, Zhangjiakou Health Staff Technical College, and Zhangjiakou Health School merged to form the new Zhangjiakou Education College. In September 2005, Zhangjiakou Art School was incorporated. In April 2013, it was upgraded and renamed Zhangjiakou College.
33Hebei College of Environmental Engineering
On March 22, 2016, the China College of Environmental Management Cadres was officially renamed Hebei College of Environmental Engineering.
34Hebei Water Conservancy and Electricity College
1992, Hebei Water Conservancy College was renamed Hebei Engineering and Technology College .On March 22, 2016, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed Hebei Water Conservancy and Electric Power College.
35 Chinese People's Police University
On September 6, 2018, Chinese People's Armed Police Force Academy was officially renamed as Chinese People's Police University
36 Central Judicial Police Academy
1995, the Central Labor Reform and Retired Education Management Cadres College was renamed to Central Judicial Police Academy . In March 2000, the Central Judicial Police Academy was established on the basis of the Central Judicial Police Academy Education Academy, and was completed on April 24, 2002. In 2012, the National Lawyer College was established at the Central Judicial Police Academy.
37 Hebei Sports College
1985, Hebei Normal University (Sports Department) and Provincial Sports Commission Sports College were merged to form Hebei Sports College. In 1990, Hebei Sports School was renamed Hebei Sports School , and was incorporated into Hebei Sports College in July 2005. In 2006, the shooting center of Hebei Provincial Sports Bureau and the shooting center of Hebei Provincial Sports Bureau were incorporated into Hebei Sports University.
