Xinmin Evening News (Reporter Luo Shuiyuan) The Dragon Boat Festival holiday is coming, and consumers who want to borrow money for travel should pay attention. Because recently, some consumers have been fined after buying cigarettes at airport duty-free shops.
Recently, a consumer, Mr. Yu, called the airport office of the Shanghai Consumer Protection Committee, complaining that when he took the plane from Pudong to Thailand on May 17, he bought three cigarettes at the airport duty-free shop. He originally wanted to store them at the merchant's office and then take them when he returned to China, but the merchant said that he did not provide storage services and did not remind consumers of the quantity restrictions on bringing cigarettes into Thailand, which led to Mr. Yu being punished when he arrived in Thailand.
When handling the complaint, the Airport Office of the Municipal Consumer Protection Committee learned that the airport departure floor store currently only provides on-site purchase and booking services, and does not provide after-purchase merchandise storage services.
If consumers choose to purchase on site, they can purchase it at the departure store with their boarding pass. No passport is required. It should be noted that the quantity of goods purchased must comply with the entry regulations of the destination country. If necessary, they can consult the merchant.
If consumers choose to book, they must go to the arrival store to purchase goods with their passports when returning to the country. They should also pay attention to the entry restrictions on the quantity of relevant goods in my country. For example, China's customs stipulate that each person purchases up to two cigarettes to enter the country (the entry cigarettes must not exceed 400 cigarettes.)
Municipal Consumer Protection Committee Airport Office reminds that when choosing outbound travel , consumers should not only know the use of travel passports, visas and other documents, as well as the currency carrying regulations of the entry country, but also pay attention to the entry regulations of special commodities to avoid unnecessary losses and penalties.
For example, Vietnam, Japan, Philippines , passengers can carry 400 cigarettes, that is, 2; Thailand, South Korea, and Taiwan (region), passengers can carry 200 cigarettes, that is, 1; Macau (region), and Hong Kong (region), passengers can carry 19 cigarettes, that is, less than one pack; Singapore : Passengers cannot carry tobacco in the entry, and all tobacco products must be declared before they can be brought in the entry.
