In the long history of the century-old Olympics, the world has experienced two wars and countless regional conflicts, and many Olympic athletes have died in the fire of war. The evil country that launched a war not only brought serious disasters to the invaded countries and people, destroying the invaded Olympic athletes, but also began to evilly devour the Olympic elites in their country as the war machines run wildly. Japanese equestrian Olympic champion Nishitake Ikka , who died in Iwo Jima during World War II, is a typical tragic figure.
First acquaintance " Uranus "
Nishiba Yi is a famous Japanese equestrian athlete and the champion of the men's personal obstacle course in the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics. He was born in July 1902 in a famous family in Tokyo, Japan. His father, Jiro Sid, served as the Minister to the Qing Dynasty. Because he was deeply trusted by Empress Dowager Cixi when dealing with the Boxer Rebellion, he obtained the monopoly of Chinese tea and made huge profits every year.
Japanese equestrian Olympic champion Xizhu
Due to his wealth, Xizhuyi has received a good education since childhood and especially likes new things. In April 1915, Nishitake Ichi entered Japan's famous Tokyo Prefecture No. 1 Middle School to study. The next year, he suddenly went against his father's wishes and transferred to the Japanese Army kindergarten school in Hiroshima . There, Xizhu Yi pair developed a strong interest in equestrianism. In April 1921, Xizhuyi entered the preparatory course of the Army Non-commissioned Officer School, and after graduation, he was assigned to the First Cavalry Regiment for internship. Soon, he entered the Japanese Army Cavalry School to study. At school, Xi Zhuyi focused on learning cavalry related knowledge and practiced horse skills, which made his equestrian make great progress.
In 1930, Xizhuyi received a letter from a friend studying in Italy. This friend was a cavalry master. In his letter, he told Xizhuyi that there was a good horse in the local area, but he was irritable and no one could tame it. The owner was ready to sell it. Because he learned that Xizhuyi was in need of a good horse, he wrote a letter to ask him to come to Italy to "see the horse". Strangely, when this irritable horse saw Nishizhuichi, he immediately rubbed his head against his body to express his strong friendship. Xizhu was overjoyed and immediately paid for the fierce horse. This 1.81-meter-high horse, born in France, can no one tame it except Xizhuyi. Because there is a star-shaped mole on the horse's forehead, Xizhu named it "Uranus". After buying "Uranus", Xizhuyi often took it to participate in many European equestrian competitions, which made the cooperation between people and horses increasingly tacitly. At the 10th Olympic Games held in Los Angeles, USA in 1932, Xizhu, who was already a cavalry lieutenant, participated in the equestrian men's personal obstacle course with "Uranus". Although Japan was condemned by widespread public opinion in the international community for launching the "September 18th" incident, and anti-Japanese sentiment in the United States was very high, more than 100,000 American audiences on the field were moved by Xizhuyi's wonderful equestrian performance and shouted "Baron Nishi" to cheer him on, which also became the most glorious moment in Xizhuyi's life.

Olympic champion who was caught from the doll went to the battlefield
Nishitakechi has a bold personality and has rich international experience, which is incompatible with the conservativeness of the Japanese Army. Influenced by Western culture, he dared to despise the powerful and was once warned for riding a horse and leaping over the superior's car. He even showed great disrespect for the emperor's supreme divine power. When the officers and soldiers lined up to worship the palace, he didn't even want to lower his head. But because his fame is too great, the superiors do nothing to him, so they have to let him be willful. Due to the usual "disrespect" between Nishiba and the upper peak, he has been treated coldly in the army and his military rank has been suppressed very low. He was not promoted to the Central Assassin until the eve of the war in Iwo Jima.
After the closing of the Los Angeles Olympics, Xizhuyi won the gold medal and was not sent to the mainland China battlefield and the Battle of Nomenkan in 1939 as cannon fodder. After several mobilizations, he was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Regiment stationed in Qiqihar, the Army Horse Supplementary Department stationed in Hokkaido, Japan, and the 26th Tank Regiment stationed in Mudanjiang.
With Japan's gradual failures in the Pacific battlefield, the Japanese army no longer cares about Olympic champions. In July 1944, Nishibata was transferred to the Pacific battlefield to participate in the "Greater East Asian Holy War" in Iwo Jima. On the way to Iwo Jima, the transport ship transporting a chariot of Nishiba was attacked by US submarines. Most of the chariots sank to the "Dahai Dragon Palace" with the transport ship, making Nishiba become a chariot corps commander who had nothing after arriving at Iwo Jima. In order to replenish the lost chariots, Nishitakechi returned to Tokyo in August of the same year to handle the matter of replenishing the new chariots. During the short period of stay, Xizhu took the time to visit his beloved horse "Uranus". When he heard the joyful cry of "Uranus", Nishizhuyi shed tears in excitement. He felt that it would be a bad luck to go to Iwo Jima again, so he cut off part of the mane of "Uranus", carefully wrapped it in his military uniform pocket, and carried it with him as a souvenir. Later on Iwo Jima, Nishitake Ichi was wearing horse boots all day long, and the horse whip was always there.
tragic Battle of Iwo Jima
"Jade Broken" Iwo Jima
Iwo Jima is the front line of defense for the Japanese army to fight the US military in the Pacific, and its strategic position is very important. In order to resist the attack of the US military, the Japanese army expanded the island's garrison troops into one infantry division, one brigade and one corps, with a force of 23,000, and more than 47,000 Marines and 30 aircraft, which were unified in command of the Army Lieutenant General Tador Kuribayashi Tadao . In mid-February 1945, the Battle of Iwo Jima kicked off. The US military concentrated more than 2,000 aircraft, more than 800 ships and three amphibious land divisions, and launched a fierce attack on Iwo Jima, which was occupied by the Japanese army.
The 26th Regiment of the tank commanded by Xizhuyi is responsible for fighting the US military's island-based attack. Before the war, Nishitake Ichiko denied the traditional tactics of use of chariots formulated by the commander of the island guard Lieutenant General Kuribain, but used the 22 additional tanks as fixed launch points and carefully camouflaged them. As a result, the attacking US military was violently bombarded by the "fixed artillery" as soon as it landed, with more than 2,400 casualties. The US military immediately increased its firepower and launched a strong counterattack against Xizhuyi's "fixed artillery". After more than a day of fierce fighting, Xizhuyi's 26th Regiment completely "deregistered the household registration". By the night of March 25, the US military completely occupied Iwo Jima at the cost of more than 21,000 casualties, and more than 30,000 Japanese soldiers guarding the island. Except for Commander Lieutenant General Kuribain, leading a few remaining troops to break through, the rest were "shattered".
movie " Letter from Iwo Jima " made an artistic reproduction of the battle between Iwo Jima and the death of Nishitake Ichi
Because Nishitake Ichi left a good impression on the Americans at the Olympics, during the battle for Iwo Jima, Nishitake Ichi once ordered the use of a few medicines to treat the injured prisoners of the US military, rather than killing the prisoners with cruel means such as beheading, heart-cutting, and stabbing them alive by bamboo sticks, which is considered by the US military to be "alternative" with modern humanitarian ideas in the Japanese army. When the US military surrounded the remnants of Nishitake, they specially set up a loud trumpet to persuade them to surrender. However, Nishitake was unable to control himself in the crazy militarism and the Bushido atmosphere. They had to hold on to the determination to "break jade" and finally died in battle with all the officers and soldiers on Iwo Jima. According to relevant information, there are three possible dates of Xizhuyi's specific battle death: one is to commit suicide with a pistol with an adjutant on March 17; the other is to be shot to death by a US military machine gun while leading his troops to break through on March 21; the third is to be killed in battle when he launched a "Yuzhu Charge" with the remaining troops on March 22, at the age of 42. According to the Japanese military regulations, Xizhu was automatically promoted to the next level after his death, and finally became a colonel in the army.
According to relevant reports from post-war Japan, when Xizhu died, she still retained her mane cut from Uranus. Less than a week after Xizhu died, "Uranus" fell to the ground and died inexplicably without eating or drinking, as if following her master. At the end of 2006, the famous American director Clint Eastwood filmed the movie "Letters from Iwo Jima" based on Lieutenant General Su Lin's collection of letters, which made an artistic reproduction of the battle between the Battle of Iwo Jima and the death of Nishitakechi.
