This morning, the Taiwan Regional Supervision Organization Conference passed the 9-0 no objection, impeached Weng Qihui and transferred it to the Civil Servant Disciplinary Committee.
This case was actively applied for investigation by the "Supervision Commission" Zhang Guimei, Bao Zonghe, Liu Dexun and Wang Meiyu. The Supervisory Commission believes that Weng Qihui purchased private company stocks for profit during his tenure and assisted in obtaining research results of the "China Research Institute" for free, seriously damaging the reputation of the authorities and the circumstances of illegal dereliction of duty are serious.
More than "supervision committee members" said at the press conference that those who are in high positions must be both morally and capable and set an example in society. They felt sad and regretful about impeaching Weng Qihui.
"The Supervisory Commission" pointed out that Weng Qihui, as the scientist with the most chance to win the Nobel Prize in Taiwan, initially, cooperated to amend the law for him and allowed him to serve as dean with " dual nationality ". However, during his tenure, Weng Qihui transferred benefits to biotechnical technician Zhang Nianci, and obtained large amounts of stocks at low prices or even no fees. He also assisted Zhang Nianci in obtaining research results of the "China Research Institute" free of charge, seriously damaging the reputation of the Taiwan authorities.
