01 Adverse reactions of COVID-19 vaccination

, general reactions account for 81.29%, with an incidence rate of 57.27/1 million; abnormal reactions account for 5.47%, with an incidence rate of 3.85/1 million; among which, severe abnormal reactions account for 0.91%, with an incidence rate of 0.64/1 million; coupling diseases account for 9.89%, with an incidence rate of 6.97/1 million; psychogenic reactions account for 2.42%, with an incidence rate of 1.70/1 million; suspected vaccination error-related reactions are 0.002%, with a total of 4 cases, including two cases that violate contraindications, one case did not sign an informed consent form, and one case was vaccinated twice within 3 days, and the vaccination interval was not well grasped. The remaining 0.93% of cases have not yet been classified.
The general reactions reported above are mainly local pain, redness, swelling, nodules and transient fever. Among the abnormal reactions, the top five reported cases are allergic rashes, with a total of 7217 cases accounting for 55.38%, 1309 cases of other allergic reactions accounted for 10.04%, 7549 cases of allergic purpura accounted for 4.21%, 366 cases of allergic shock accounted for 2.81%, and 290 cases of Guillain-Barre syndrome accounted for 2.23%.
Overall, the reporting rate of general reactions, abnormal reactions and severe abnormal reactions of the new crown vaccine in my country are all lower than the reporting level of other routine vaccinations nationwide in 2020. These routine vaccinated vaccines include polio vaccine, measles vaccine, hepatitis B vaccine, rabies vaccine, influenza vaccine, etc.
So far, no vaccine safety issues have been found in countries that use my country's new crown vaccine on a large scale internationally. These data fully demonstrate that my country's new crown vaccine is very safe.
02 Vaccination with the new crown vaccine will not cause leukemia and diabetes
At the meeting, Director of the Department of Infectious Diseases Medicine of the Fifth Medical Center of the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences said:
Vaccination with the new crown vaccine will not cause leukemia and diabetes , nor will it affect human genetic development, lead to tumor metastasis and spread, and cause antibody dependence enhancement (ADE) as some online information says. These are all irresponsible erroneous remarks on the Internet.
He analyzed it from the following three aspects:
First of all, various substances in the vaccine are safe for the human body and will not cause direct disease. inactivated vaccine mainly contains micrograms of viral antigen or recombinant protein, as well as other components such as aluminum hydroxide adjuvants and excipients. Their content in the vaccine meets relevant regulations and cannot lead to diseases by themselves. The reagents used in the vaccine production process have been strictly checked by relevant institutions and met the standards. For example, the residual formaldehyde content in the inactivated vaccine currently vaccinated is within the range of ≤0.027μg/drug, and its concentration is 47 times lower than the normal steady-state formaldehyde level (2.6 mg/L) in the human blood.
Second, the largest number of inactivated new coronavirus vaccines in my country, has sufficient safety guarantees and has been recognized by international organizations. is basically the same as the production and inactivation process of hepatitis A vaccine, rabies vaccine, and polio vaccine that have been on the market at home and abroad for decades. There has been no reports of vaccination with these vaccines related to the occurrence of leukemia or diabetes.After the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, a number of new crown virus vaccines developed by my country have been included in the World Health Organization emergency use list and have been used in more than 100 countries, achieving the expected results and the safety meets international standards.
Third, clinical monitoring and statistical data show that in the four years before and after the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, the number of people who visited diabetes and leukemia and hospitalizations were basically the same, and there was no significant change, which shows that vaccination with the new crown vaccine will not cause the occurrence of leukemia and diabetes. For example: Before the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the proportion of hospitalizations for leukemia in my country was 0.15% and 0.14% respectively, while in 2020 and 2021 after the outbreak, the proportion of hospitalizations was 0.13%. In 2018 and 2019, the proportion of hospitalizations for diabetes was 2.1%; in 2020 and 2021 after the outbreak, the proportion of hospitalizations was 2.2%.

At present, the COVID-19 vaccination rate of children aged 3-12 and teenagers aged 12-17 in my country is 90-100%, and the total number is nearly 250 million. You can simply calculate that if the new crown vaccine really causes diabetes and leukemia, the number of patients and hospitalizations generated will increase significantly, but this phenomenon is not seen from actual monitoring and clinical statistics.

03 Are the existing vaccines effective against the Omickron mutation? At the

Therefore, the results of many research studies show that the effectiveness of existing vaccines at home and abroad in preventing severe illness and death is still at a high level. my country's vaccine still has a good protective effect on severe illness and death caused by the Omickron variant strain , and strengthening immunity can further reduce the risk of hospitalization, severe illness and death.
Regarding the development of vaccines against mutant strains, the vaccine development special team of the Science and Technology Group of the State Council’s Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism has been listed as the next day on December 26, 2021. The World Health Organization listed the Omickron variant as a mutant strain that has attracted attention, and organized experts to conduct research and development work.
At present, multiple technical routes have carried out the research and development of unit-price and multi-price Omickron variant vaccines. The inactivated vaccine of the unit-price Omickron variant with fast progress in has been approved for clinical trials and is being conducted in Zhejiang, Hunan, Hong Kong and other places. The fast-progressing tetravalent recombinant protein vaccine has obtained approval for the UAE Phase III clinical trial, and related research has been initiated. Other units and multi-valent inactivated vaccines containing Omickron variants, recombinant protein vaccines, , adenovirus vector vaccines, and mRNA vaccines, are also conducting preclinical research. Those who are progressing rapidly have submitted clinical trial application materials to the drug approval center. In addition, the special team has also planned the research on broad-spectrum COVID-19 vaccines. The fast-progressing vaccines have obtained clinical trial approval documents and related research has been initiated.
Generally speaking, the research and development of the vaccine of Omickron variant in China is steadily advancing. As long as there is a need, the approval procedures for emergency use can be quickly initiated and vaccinated can be provided. As for whether or not you need to be vaccinated and when to get a vaccine containing the Omickron mutation, this question is not only in my country but also internationally, and it is mainly to analyze the situation of viral mutation and immune escape.
