WHOWHO (WHA) was held in Geneva, Switzerland. The five organizations in Taiwan, the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia and Japan, reiterated their support for Taiwan to meaningfully participate in the WHO (WHO) affairs and participate in the WHA as an observer through a joint press release yesterday. (China News Service )

Recently, the Biden administration of the United States has expressed its support for Taiwan to participate in the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Health Organization Conference (WHA) in various ways. Since Tsai Ing-wen's "rule", except for the first year when Ma Ying-jeou was invited to participate in the later period of "rule", the rest have not been invited to participate in the WHO Conference so far.

In response to the fact that WHO still refuses to invite Taiwan as an observer to participate in the annual WHA held in Geneva , the Taiwan Foreign Affairs Department issued a statement expressing deep dissatisfaction and regret for the WHO. The statement mentioned that the WHO Conference is the first time that it has resumed in a physical manner after the outbreak of the new crown epidemic in the world; however, the WHO did not respond to the appeals of all sectors to urge the Secretary-General to urge the Secretary-General to urge the participation of Tedros Adhanom Adhanom Ghebreyesus . The statement criticized the WHO for failing to uphold the principles of neutrality and professionalism, and repeatedly ignored the necessity and urgency of Taiwan's participation in the WHO and the WHO Conference.

At the same time, the Taiwan Foreign Affairs Department thanked the 13 "friendly countries" who are member states of WHO for their proposal to the WHO Secretariat to "Inviting Taiwan to participate in the World Health Assembly as an observer" and requested that the "Supplementary Project" be included in the agenda of this WHO Conference. In fact, this method has had very limited results for several years. This stems from Tsai Ing-wen’s imbalance strategy of “alliance between the United States and China”, which has caused cross-strait interactions to fall into a vicious cycle.

After Tsai Ing-wen took office, she advocated "maintaining the status quo", claiming that she would handle cross-strait affairs in accordance with the current "Constitution" on the island and the "Regulations on Cross-Strait People's Relations"; however, over time, her cross-strait route gradually changed, causing cross-strait hostility to rise like a spiral, and bilateral relations fell on the risk of war. The fundamental structural factor is probably caused by Tsai Ing-wen's refusal to recognize " 1992 Consensus ".

Tsai Ing-wen advocated the "anti-China and protect Taiwan" route and implemented the "Alliance between the United States and China" strategy; this conspired with the US government's framework goal of " Indo-Pacific Strategy " announced by Biden , trying to curb China's development opportunities through encirclement. The United States regards Taiwan as the leading role of its "Indo-Pacific Strategy" and "pawning".

From the perspective of the DPP authorities, the signal of strong support for the United States is very clear. However, from the objective results, this is actually a way of looking far and wide, and its effects are limited. As Ma Ying-jeou said, relying solely on the international community is not sufficient. The key is to return to direct dialogue and consultation between the cross-strait authorities. The problem is that the DPP authorities have publicly denied the existence of the "1992 Consensus", which has caused no room for cross-strait interactions. Recent polls show that Taiwanese people hope that the cross-strait exchanges will be gradually opened. The China Asia-Pacific Elite Exchange Association conducted a poll on the sixth anniversary of Tsai Ing-wen's inauguration and the development of cross-strait relations, which shows that under the premise of stable epidemic situation across the Taiwan Strait, do you support the gradual opening of exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, relax the coming of mainlanders to Taiwan, and resume cross-strait personnel exchanges? There are 68.5% support, and 16.1% not supported. This shows that the Taiwanese people hope to establish a framework for cross-strait peace and stability relations. In this regard, the only prescription medicine that can currently act as a balance weight for regression correction or clearance speech is the "1992 Consensus".
