Hong Kong SAR government announced on the 213th that the ninth round of designated quarantine hotel plans starting in November will allow quarantine hotel guests to stay in the hotel where they were originally staying for isolation after being diagnosed.
After the current quarantine hotel guests are diagnosed, they will be sent to the quarantine hotel or community isolation facilities located in Penny's Bay and Kai Tak (i.e. " Square Hospital "). To facilitate the planning of designated quarantine hotels and arrivals in Hong Kong, the SAR government has sent a letter to invite hotels or hotels with valid licenses to apply for the ninth round of the plan. Taking into account the development of the epidemic and the assessment of the latest entry epidemic prevention regulations and related situations, a new round of quarantine hotel contract will be added to the new terms: residents are allowed to stay in the hotel where they originally stay for quarantine after being diagnosed.
The SAR government stressed that quarantine hotels must strengthen infection control measures, such as arranging specific floors or rooms for isolated confirmed cases, and adding air purifiers in appropriate locations, and hotel staff must also wear personal protective equipment. This move can not only eliminate the fatigue of confirmed cases, but also help make good use of the manpower and vehicles originally used to transport confirmed cases, reducing the risk of transmission that may occur during the process.
In addition, the quarantine hotel "Hong Kong East" located in Hong Kong Island East District , which was originally used to receive crew members, will join the eighth round of designated quarantine hotel plans from the 15th. There are 62 hotels participating in the round of plans, providing a total of about 23,600 rooms.
