It is hard to imagine that this colorful and creative mountain was written by a 80-year-old Leonard Knight. His creative motivation was to tell everyone about God’s love for the world, and named the mountain "Salvation Mountain".
0 Born in 1931, he has worked as a soldier, participated in the Korean War, worked as a welder, electrician, guitar teacher and painter. He became a Christian at the age of 36. He came to California in the mid-1980s. He loved traveling and built a hot air balloon with old bed sheets. He flew to a height of 300 feet and discovered this treasure land in the desert. After that, he began to build and color the "Salvation Mountain" for 24 years. In 2002, the US Congress included Redemption Mountain as a "national treasure". In May 2007, it was rated as a national wealth and was recognized by the American National Art Society.
Leonard Knight has always been passionate about preaching the gospel, so he specially chose a desert area in California to carry out the "oraco-making" plan in combination with his own artistic gifts.
The Mount of Redemption is his offering to God and a gift to every visitor. Even though he is almost blind, he still insists on repairing Shuhuangshan better. “I meditate on God every day and hope to let people know through my hands that Jesus loves everyone!” Leonard Knigh said, which is the motivation for his work in art.
