"A Chinese Ghost Story" is a costume romance film produced by Tsui Hark, directed by Cheng Xiaodong, and starring Leslie Cheung, Joey Wong, Wu Ma and others. The film is remake from a film of the same name produced by Shaw Brothers in 1960. It tells the story of a human-ghost love affair between scholar Ning Caichen and female ghost Nie Xiaoqian. It has won the Jury Special Award at the 16th French Science Fiction Film Festival, the Best Movie Award at the Portuguese Science Fiction Film Festival, and the Best Adapted Screenplay at the 24th Taiwan Film Golden Horse Awards.
