In 2018, Miyun Reservoir successively exceeded five barriers: 2.1 billion, 2.2 billion, 2.3 billion, 2.4 billion and 2.5 billion. According to statistics, from January to May this year, the average rainfall at the four stations of Miyun Reservoir was 161.2 mm, 107% more than 77.8 mm in the same period last year and 113% more than 75.7 mm in the same period last year. From May 17 to 18, the Miyun Reservoir Basin suffered heavy rain for two consecutive days. The four reservoir stations were 43.7 mm, Xiahui Station was 67.9 mm, Baihe Departure Station 64.9 mm, and Chaohe Departure Station 62.0 mm. After the rainfall, as the rainwater continued to flow in, the water level of Miyun Reservoir rose by 0.05 meters in just two days, and the water storage volume increased by nearly 8 million cubic meters.
