Xinhua News Agency, Fuzhou, July 13 (Reporter Xu Xueyi) July is the peanut picking season in Changqing Town, Yongtai County, Fuzhou. On the 13th, the "Cross-Strait Peanut Festival" jointly planned by teams from both sides of the Taiwan Strait was held in Zhongyang Village, Changqing Town, hoping to provide new explorations for rural revitalization.
"From the beginning of spring when I watched the peanuts being planted in Zhongyang Village to today when the peanuts are ripe, I feel very excited." Xu Junxiong, one of the organizers of this event and the founder of Taiwan's "Jianxuekan", said that this is the 10th event this year Came to Changqing Town for the first time. I visited the entire town and saw the secret of the excellent quality of Changqing peanuts from the topography, climate, mountain topography, hydrology and planting methods. This time, the Cross-Strait Peanut Festival in the small village attracted many teams and young practitioners from the fields of planning, design, operation, cultural and creative industries from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, as well as more than 100 tourists from Fuzhou.
Reporters saw that on-site stalls displayed Taiwanese delicacies such as the famous "Peanut Ice Cream Roll" and "Peanut Malt Crisp" from Yunlin County and Yilan County in Taiwan, as well as the "Peanut Bubble Ice" from Keelung Miaokou. .
Xu Junxiong said that this was delivered to the event site by the Taiwan "Jianxueguan" team in a cold chain from Taipei. Eight heads of Taiwanese design companies served as "one-day store managers" at the booth and jointly promoted Taiwanese ice products with young people in Yongtai County.
In April this year, Xu Junxiong and his Taiwan "Jianxueguan" team participated in the "Tongxin Cup" cross-strait youth rural revitalization training camp co-sponsored by the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee. China has launched useful exploration into a new path for cross-strait integrated development. This cross-strait peanut festival is one of the continuations of the results of the training camp.
According to Xu Junxiong, the team has established two local companies and hopes to learn from Taiwan's experience and work with villagers to create a characteristic agricultural cultural brand.
Changqing Town Mayor Chen Chengqin said that peanuts are a specialty crop in Changqing Town. Currently, 78 farmers have been recruited and 225 acres of land have been transferred for peanut cultivation. The net income per acre can exceed 5,000 yuan. This is the first time Changqing Town has held a Cross-Strait Peanut Festival event. We hope to introduce Taiwanese cultural creativity and diverse processed products, combine Changqing Town’s cultural history and products, and promote better development of Changqing Town.
Near the peanut picking area, a notice board was erected, introducing Fengyuan Fort, a famous ancient building in Yongtai County, known as "Bagua Village". On the table next to it are three-color peanut products in Bagua-shaped boxes.

Li Panlong, design director of Taiwan Berson, said that the green mustard peanuts represent the green forests of Fujian, the black bamboo charcoal peanuts represent the fertile land, and the red peanuts from Changqing Town are in the middle. “We want to set a demonstration and tell local villagers how to process the crops to increase their value after they are ready. For example, the design of this Bagua-shaped packaging box has a brand story behind it, which is the local village culture. It can be spread to more places at home and abroad. "
Li Panlong believes that many Taiwanese young people have sentiments, and they have more opportunities and greater possibilities in the mainland. The two sides of the Taiwan Strait working together to promote rural revitalization will not only help promote specialty agricultural products such as peanuts, but also attract more young people to return home through industrial revitalization, creating a new world for rural development.
This event was guided by the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee, and hosted by the Fuzhou Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau and the Yongtai County People's Government. Tang Xiaoteng, deputy magistrate of Yongtai County, believes that Taiwan has rich experience in modern agriculture, especially in specific agricultural production, and pays great attention to the idea of analyzing specific problems to create brand products with local characteristics. It is hoped that peanuts will be used as a matchmaker to promote win-win development of agriculture on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
