According to the police, starting from May to June last year, three people used EMS to import processed cooked foods such as pork sausages, pickled peppers and wind claws, and braised eggs from China. They imported a total of 6 times, with a total weight of 400 kilograms.
The sausages and other meat products were discovered by inspectors from the Animal Quarantine Bureau when international packages destined for the three people's homes and companies passed through Kansai International Airport and other places.
The three suspects denied the accusations, and Xiao said the goods he received were gifts from a friend. Police are investigating whether the suspects sold illegally imported sausages and other products to a Chinese food company in Japan, as they generated approximately 16 million yen in sales last year.

Starting from July 1, 2020, Japan’s “Law on the Prevention and Control of Livestock Infectious Diseases” has also been comprehensively revised.
1. The maximum fine will increase from 1 million yen to 3 million yen.
2. Illegal carrying of livestock products, such as meat products, will result in a fine of up to 3 million yen (maximum of 50 million yen for companies) or imprisonment of up to 3 years.
3. Animal quarantine station staff can ask and check whether there are meat products and other livestock products in portable luggage.
4. They are also authorized to destroy any meat products or other animal products illegally brought into Japan.
5. Someone was arrested for illegally bringing in meat and other livestock products.
6. The declaration form you submit to customs will include questions about carrying meat products, animals and plants. Please make sure you fill out and declare these items correctly.
7. If any undeclared meat products or other animal products are found in your luggage, you will be subject to penalties.
8. Due to the need to register passport and boarding pass information, the import inspection process may take some time.
As the saying goes, a mouse droppings can spoil a pot of soup. Businessmen taking risks for the sake of profit can only harm the interests of more Chinese people in Japan.
