9, Xueling
According to historical records, the name Xueling was first seen in the "Dongchuan Prefecture Chronicles" during the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty. It was called Snow Mountain at that time and was known as "the highest peak in central Yunnan" , with an altitude of 4344 meters. , is the main peak of Gongwang Mountain. The top of the mountain is covered with snow for most of the year. It is the most difficult, highest and most dangerous mountain to climb among the ten peaks in Kunming.
There are many legends about Xueling, one of the weirdest is that there are five peaks on this mountain, among which Lumi Peak, the highest, can grow upward from time to time. However, every time it grows, it will be struck by lightning, so the snow The ridge is also called "Leida Mountain".
There are three main routes across the snow ridge. The first is the Jiaozi Snow Mountain tourist line, which takes Yundian Town, Hongtudi Town (Fazhe), Xiaoguangqiao and Xintanfang Village; this route allows you to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Red Earth along the way. The second is to take the expressway to the seat of Dongchuan District Government ( Tongdu Town ), Tangdan Town (Sky City), and follow the ancient copper mine road to Xiaoguangqiao-Xintanfang Village. A section of the copper mine road on this route is on the edge of a cliff, so don’t look over the edge if you are timid. The third is to take the expressway to the seat of Dongchuan District Government (Tongdu Town), or along the Fawu Highway from Batang Reservoir.
Starting from Xintanfang Village, which is 2,700 meters above sea level, you can hike to Snow Ridge, Mazhao Ridge, and Jiaozi Snow Mountain (crossing). The altitude rises 1500-1600 meters, which is nearly 300 meters higher than Camp No. 2 (4100 meters) in Haba Village, , to Haba Snow Mountain , 5396 meters above sea level. 10. Jiuding Mountain
