Taiwan Strait Network, May 27 (Strait Herald reporter Wang Longxiang/Photo) There are many temporary "fruit stalls" on the national highway where vehicles shuttle. Recently, some netizens reported through the Herald Longhai WeChat backend that on the National Highway Zhangzhou to Xiamen, there are many local fruit farmers setting up stalls selling bayberries on the motorway.

The netizen also left a message in the background saying that it is not easy for fruit farmers, but it is very dangerous to set up stalls on national highways.

In order to confirm the information, the Herald reporter rushed to this section of the road at noon on the 25th.

was driving along National Highway 324 from Zhangzhou to Xiamen. When the Herald reporter's vehicle passed the traffic light at the Xixi Bridge intersection, he discovered that there were indeed two or three bayberry stalls in the rightmost lane ahead. Counting carefully, there are more than 20 bayberry stalls on the one kilometer long section from near the traffic lights of Xixi Bridge to the entrance of Jiangdong Expressway. Some set up a small table in the driveway with five or six baskets of bayberries on it; some also set up parasols on the stalls. Their "unified" action is: when they see a vehicle passing by the stall slowly, they wave to the vehicle to solicit business. Under the "enthusiastic" solicitation of the stall owners, some passing vehicles actually parked their cars on the roadside to buy bayberries.

A bayberry stall owner who sets up a stall at a bus station said that he sells it from morning to evening every day and can only sell a few dozen yuan a day. When a reporter from the Herald reminded him of the dangers of setting up a stall on a national highway, the stall owner smiled and ran away.

In order to eliminate potential safety hazards, the Herald reporter reported this situation to the Longhai City Traffic Police Brigade that afternoon. The relevant person in charge of the traffic police brigade said that they will immediately join the law enforcement officers of the Law Enforcement Bureau to go to the road section to dissuade them.

At about 5:10 pm that day, police from the Longhai Traffic Police Brigade rushed to the scene and persuaded the fruit farmers who were setting up stalls to leave.
