Ni Kuang, the 5000-mile

He is a genius naughty boy who created Hong Kong A legend of the film generation, he won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Hong Kong Film Awards in his seventies!

He is affectionate and talented. Together with Chua Lam, Huang Zhan, and Jin Yong, he is known as the four great talents in Hong Kong, and together they have built the coordinates of Hong Kong's popular culture!

He is Ni Kuang!

Ni Kuang, the 5000-mile

On May 30, 1935, Ni Kuang was born in Shanghai, his original name was Ni Yiming. There are 7 brothers and sisters in the family, and the younger sister Yishu is also a famous writer. When he was a child, Ni Kuang was a bookworm and read many books, especially "Mencius".

In 1951 (16 years old) Ni Kuang, with the ideal of "freedom and equality", dropped out of school and left home to train at East China People's Revolutionary University in Suzhou for three months. Later, as a member of the public security force, he participated in the "big construction" of New China. He participated in the land reform in southern Jiangsu, the Hongze Lake management project in northern Jiangsu, the reclamation of saline-alkali land, the construction of seawalls, the establishment of labor reform farms, etc.

In 1955 (20 years old), Ni Kuang volunteered to sign up to go to Daxinganling ( Zhalaite Banner ) in Inner Mongolia to open a labor camp. Full of enthusiasm, Ni Kuang took a group of reform-through-labor prisoners north by train. After getting off the train at , Tailai County, Heilongjiang Province, he walked or took a carriage for three days before reaching his destination.

However, the strange and cold Northeast is a completely different world. No matter how big or small, you have to report your thoughts and hold meetings to review, and it is very unfair internally, which makes Ni Kuang very dissatisfied and disappointed, and he often has disputes with his superiors.

Winter in the Northeast is minus 20 to 30 degrees, which is too cold. He and several soldiers dismantled a wooden bridge to make a fire to keep warm. They were accused by the brigade secretary of "disrupting traffic", convicted of "counterrevolutionary" and put under house arrest for several months. After being released, the angry Ni Kuang indulged the big wolf dog he secretly raised and bit the captain all over his body.

In May 1956, Ni Kuang "feared the crime and absconded". He rode overnight to Tailai County Railway Station, took a train to Dalian, and then returned to Shanghai by boat. But no one dared to take him in, so he had to continue to flee south, sometimes eating rats, ants, and cotton to satisfy his hunger. He walked for three months and arrived in Guangzhou. He carved a fake seal himself, deceived the customs officers, and fled mainland China. After passing through Macau, Ni Kuang successfully smuggled to Hong Kong in July 1957. His escape lasted more than a year and covered more than 5,000 miles.

After arriving in Hong Kong, Ni Kuang worked as a handyman in a dyeing factory to make a living, and went to a college to study at night. Later, he tried to contribute articles and was later hired by "True News" as a co-worker, proofreader, assistant editor, reporter and political columnist.

In 1958, Ni Kuang began to write martial arts novels. His early works include "The Black Heroine Mulan", "The Prodigal Gundam", "Detective Gauss", " Six Finger Piano Demon ", etc., which were very popular. He wrote everything but lyrics and jingles.

In 1963 (28 years old), with the encouragement of Jin Yong, Ni Kuang began to write science fiction detective novels under the pen name "Wesley", which was serialized in "Mingpao". Ni Kuang has created a total of more than 140 books in the "Wesley" series. The books are exquisitely conceived and have strange plots, and are very popular among young people.

With the rise of Hong Kong martial arts films, Ni Kuang also began to write scripts. He collaborated with director Chang Cheh , and the martial arts film "The One-Armed Sword" he wrote became a hit, pushing Chang Cheh, who had failed several times, to the throne of "Millionaire Director" in one fell swoop.

Ni Kuang's creative power is amazing. He can write a script in 3 or 4 days and write 7 or 8 serial novels at the same time. In the following decades, he wrote no less than 400 screenplays and made 300 films. In "Fist of Fury" released in 1972, the protagonist Chen Zhen and the classic scenes in the play were all written "out of thin air" by Ni Kuang.

Ni Kuang and Chang Cheh combined their swords to create the myth of Hong Kong martial arts and kung fu movies.

Ni Kuang, the 5000-mile

Ni Kuang believes that the most proud thing in his life is: "I have repeatedly written scripts for Zhang Che and once wrote novels for Jin Yong."

At that time, " Tian Long Ba Bu " was being serialized in Ming Pao. Jin Yong was on a business trip and asked Ni Kuang to ghostwrite it. Ni Kuang didn't like the character " A'Zi " in the book, and he actually made "A'Zi" blind by making his own opinions. Rumor has it that it's because Azi resembles his "mean" sister Yishu.

After Jin Yong came back, he had no choice but to write down. Jin Da Xia tried his best to write "You Tanzhi was trapped by love, so he gave Azi his eyes", which is the most tragic love tragedy in the whole book.

Ni Kuang and Gu Long are also close friends. Gu Long's " Peerless Twins " was drafted for more than 20 days, and Ni Kuang helped ghostwrite it. The writing style is so vivid that it is impossible to distinguish between male and female.

In 1985 (50 years old), Gu Long passed away, and Ni Kuang was heartbroken. On the day of the vigil, he cried, opened the 48 bottles of XO in the coffin, called everyone, and drank with Cologne. As a result, Gu Long was buried with only 48 empty wine bottles.

He claims to be "the person who writes the most Chinese characters since the beginning of mankind." He has never delayed a manuscript and once set a writing record of 4,500 words per hour and 20,000 words per day.

His personality is the same as his writing. He is impatient and speaks like a barrage of words. He is known as one of the three famous speakers in Hong Kong. In 1989 (54 years old), he co-hosted the program "Undefended Tonight" with Huang Zhan and Cai Lam. In the

program, the speech is open and frank, up and down, and talks about everything; it especially likes to invite celebrities and celebrities to analyze their inner world, and all the joys, sorrows, and joys are displayed in front of the audience; when it comes to adult topics, they are even more salty and witty, and they are all Show your true qualities as a romantic and talented person.

However, my wife was not used to living abroad and missed her relatives and friends in Hong Kong, so she returned to Hong Kong alone many times over the past decade.

In 2005 (70 years old), Ni Kuang returned to Hong Kong to settle down. He laughed at himself: "I won't be saved for the rest of my life! A hero must be short-tempered if his children are in love."

In 2012 (77 years old), Ni Kuang won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 31st Hong Kong Film Awards.
