my country has 31 provincial military regions, including 1 garrison region, 3 garrison regions, 22 provincial military regions, and 5 autonomous region military regions.

Except for the Beijing Garrison , Xinjiang Military Region, and Tibet Military Region, which are under the jurisdiction of the Army, the other 28 provincial-level military regions are managed by the Department of National Defense Mobilization.

So, how many military-level major generals are there in provincial military regions now?

First, let’s introduce the 28 provincial-level military regions of the national defense mobilization system.

Before the military reform, , the provincial military region had certain combat forces under its jurisdiction, consisting of four departments: "Headquarters, Political Department, Logistics Department, and Equipment Department". The first two were at the deputy military level, and the latter two were at the division level.

At that time, in addition to the commander and political commissar, the provincial military region also had several deputy commanders, deputy political commissars, chiefs of staff, and directors of the political department, generally totaling seven military-level cadres.

At the same time, the two senior colonels, the Director of the Logistics Department and the Director of the Equipment Department, will also join the Standing Committee of the Party Committee.

After the military reform, , the functions of the provincial military regions have been greatly narrowed, and they no longer have the jurisdiction of combat troops. They have been positioned as "the headquarters for emergency response, the military department of the local party committee, the construction department of the reserve force, and the military service department of the government at the same level. The coordination department for military-civilian integration and the service department for valuable assets."

Therefore, the Provincial Military Region abolished the original "four major departments" and established "one office and four bureaus", namely "office, combat readiness construction bureau, political work bureau, national defense mobilization bureau, and security bureau (deputy division level)".

Although the provincial military region maintains the same military-level specifications , military-level cadres are downsized to 4 people, including "commander, political commissar, 1 deputy commander, 1 deputy political commissar", and there is no longer a "chief of staff" , Director of the Political Department" position.

Nowadays, command and management officers have implemented "one position, one rank". Both the chief military position and the deputy military position correspond to the rank of major general. Therefore, a provincial military region has a total of 2 full-level major generals and 2 deputy-level major generals.

In addition, the three full-time senior colonels, namely "Director of the Office, Director of the Combat Readiness and Construction Bureau, and Director of the Political Work Bureau", will also join the Standing Committee of the Party Committee.

Therefore, the party committee leadership team of the provincial military region generally consists of the following seven people:

1, Party Committee Secretary: Political Commissar;

2, Party Committee Deputy Secretary: Commander;

3, Party Committee Standing Committee: Deputy Commander, Deputy Political Commissar and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, Office Director, Director of the Combat Readiness and Construction Bureau and Director of the Political Work Bureau.

There are three points worth noting:

1. The secretary of the provincial party committee will concurrently serve as the "first secretary of the party committee" of the provincial military region, but will not participate in the daily work of the provincial military region.

2, one of the chief officers of the provincial military region will serve as a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Committee, known as the "Military Uniform Standing Committee". However, there is no clear stipulation on which person should serve. Generally, seniority is used, that is, the person with more seniority takes over.

3. Provincial military regions are no longer all major generals of the Army. There are also rear admirals of the navy, air force, and rocket force to hold relevant positions.

Then, let’s introduce the three provincial military regions of the army system.

The three provincial-level military regions, Beijing Garrison, Xinjiang Military Region, and Tibet Military Region, are relatively special. They still have combat troops under their jurisdiction and undertake combat tasks. They are currently under the management of the Army and accept the command of the theater in which they are located:

1. The Beijing Garrison is responsible To protect Gyeonggi, its internal institutions are set up based on the Army Group Army, and the "Staff Department, Political Work Department, and Support Department" are still retained.

It is worth noting that the of the Beijing Garrison has always been of the military-level specification. Before the military reform, the two chief officers were assigned to the deputy theater level. After the military reform, they were all appointed to the military-level major generals.

In addition to 2 deputy commanders, 1 deputy disciplinary inspection commission, 1 chief of staff, and 1 director of the political work department, the Beijing Garrison generally has 7 major generals (2 regular soldiers, 5 deputy soldiers).

2. The Xinjiang Military Region and the Tibet Military Region guard the border and face various complex and severe challenges. They are currently deputy theater level specifications (the Xinjiang Military Region was upgraded in 1998 and the Tibet Military Region was upgraded in 2016).

1. Both military regions have commanders, political commissars 2 and deputy theater-level lieutenant generals .

2. Due to the very difficult environment in which the military regions are located, in order to ensure that cadres can perform their duties normally, the two military regions will reserve more deputy positions.Among them, there are about 3-4 deputy commanders and deputy political commissars, plus the chief of staff and director of the political department, there will be about 29 full-level major generals.

3, the Minister of Security, the Political Commissar of the Ministry of Security, the Deputy Chief of Staff, and the Deputy Director of the Political Work Department are deputy military level major generals .

Therefore, there are more than ten major generals in the Tibet Military Region, which is far better than other provincial military regions.

As for the Xinjiang Military Region, it also has a military-level Southern Xinjiang Military Region, a deputy-level military department of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and more than 20 military-level major generals.

There are 31 provincial military regions in my country, including 1 garrison region, 3 garrison regions, 22 provincial military regions, and 5 autonomous region military regions. Except for the Beijing Garrison, Xinjiang Military Region, and Tibet Military Region, which are under - DayDayNews
