Xiao Guoyou, who comes from Taichung, Taiwan, majored in chemical engineering in college, but he is very interested in marketing planning. From 2016 to 2017, Xiao Guoyou visited Fujian many times and witnessed with his own eyes the achievements and prospects of Fujian's development. In 2018, he decided to come to Fuzhou to start a business and now serves as the planning manager of Huayou Huichuang Fujian and Taiwan Homes.

On the eve of the New Year this year, Xiao Guoyou was not idle. On the Lunar New Year's Day in the south, he was busy organizing the "Love in Home" activity for young people in Rongtai to watch the New Year around the fire at his home in Fujian and Taiwan. Last year, Xiao Guoyou successfully obtained the first batch of public rental housing for Taiwanese compatriots in Fuzhou, and he was delighted to find a new home, which gave him a stronger sense of belonging. It is understood that the first batch of Fuzhou’s public rental houses were opened to Taiwanese compatriots, with a total of 550 units. The units are divided into one-person, two-person, and three-person types. The rent is 70% of the market rent standard. A total of 45 public rental houses were sold, with 72 Taiwanese residents. The compatriots completed the rental procedures and the contract was for 3 years.

“I applied for a 45-square-meter room. It’s in a good location and has a beautiful layout. It’s even equipped with a water heater and range hood. I saved about 900 yuan in rent compared to before, which relieved the pressure of living in Fuzhou. This allows us to invest our limited time and funds in our business." Recently, Xiao Guoyou has been busy buying new furniture and home appliances in preparation for moving in after the Spring Festival. In the new year, he hopes that the epidemic will end soon, cross-strait communication will be better, and more Taiwanese youth will come to Fuzhou for employment, entrepreneurship and development.

Taiwanese Wang Guoquan came to Fuzhou after studying in the United States. He has been working as a piano teacher in a private school for eight years now. He is very optimistic about the cultural and educational market in mainland China. Last year, he decided to start his own business. He and his wife established a music store called "My Music Store" in Taijiang District, Fuzhou. It currently has one to two hundred students, and he is planning to apply for entrepreneurial subsidies.

What made Wang Guoquan happiest in the past year was becoming a father. Just last December, his lover gave birth to a baby. In the new year, Wang Guoquan hopes that his entrepreneurial projects will become more sophisticated and achieve better results. It was his first time celebrating the New Year in Fuzhou, and Wang Guoquan also sent blessings to his family in Taiwan. "My grandparents are over 90 years old. I hope they can be safe and healthy." Wang Guoquan also hopes that cross-strait relations will get better and better in the future, transportation will become more convenient, and Taiwanese family members can come to Fuzhou often.

Jian Yixin, who is from Taoyuan, Taiwan, has been in Fujian for eight years. After graduating from Fujian Normal University, he did not return to Taiwan. Instead, he stayed in Fuzhou to engage in the import and export trade of red wine and started a family with a Putian girl. A Fujian son-in-law.
