htmlOn September 25, "Europeans buy Chinese electric blankets" became a hot search on Weibo.
In order to survive the winter, European residents urgently prepare for heating equipment, while Chinese manufacturers set off a production boom. Although Europe is still in summer, the continent of Europe is in its biggest energy crisis in decades as the supply of natural gas from Russia becomes unstable. Against this background, the export of heating equipment such as China's electric heaters, electric blankets and air source heat pump has seen explosive growth this year.
Data from the General Administration of Customs of China shows that in July this year alone, the number of Chinese electric blankets imported by the EU 27 countries reached 1.29 million, an increase of nearly 150% month-on-month. The sales season for exporting heaters to the EU has also been extended by about a month. Many importers add heater orders, bringing a round of "subsidy wave".
In view of the increasing purchase of heating equipment in European consumers before the upcoming winter, China's electric blanket export volume was US$33.4 million from January to July, led other home appliance categories with a year-on-year growth rate of 97%, and the export volume of electric heaters increased by 23% year-on-year.

Compared with the depression of the European energy industry, in China on the other side of the Eurasian continent, many electric blanket factories are producing at full capacity. Dongguan Liu Hu, an electric blanket factory manager, said that currently has three times the sales of electric blankets this year, and it is also the best record in the past five years.
"Export orders have increased twice compared with last year, and orders have increased in July." On September 24, the highest temperature in Dongguan was 34℃, but Liu Hu was staring at the production of electric blankets for winter supplies in the factory.
According to Liu Hu, as early as May, the factory conducted a market assessment and concluded that the electric blanket market will explode. There are two main reasons: one is that natural gas prices will rise under geopolitical conflicts, and the other is that the temperature this summer is extremely high, and there will be a great cold after the Great Heat. Starting from June, the factory equipment has been operating 24 hours a day, working three shifts, and it has also expanded its enrollment specifically for this. The electric blankets in the factory are mainly sold to Europe and North America, and the current monthly sales are about 100,000 pieces.
"Europe is long winter, and some countries will be very cold until April, especially in the northern regions. Our factory customers in these countries are stocking electric blankets in large quantities." Liu Hu said that workers are currently producing orders for October and November.
He estimates that sales of electric blankets in Europe and the United States will peak on November 25.
European market has always been the main growth engine for China's home appliance exports. Demand for imported electric heaters in European countries surged, especially in Italy, Belgium, , Netherlands, , Spain and Germany. Greece , Italy, Poland , Germany and the Netherlands have also more than doubled their import demand for electric blankets.
Economists point out that against the backdrop of soaring energy prices and shortage of natural gas, China's manufacturing has become a "stabilizer" of the global supply chain. China's high-quality and affordable heating equipment will be increasingly favored by European consumers.
