Why do I flush the toilet with the lid open?

What experiments did CCTV do? What does it mean?
In the seemingly ordinary matter of flushing the toilet, there is actually a lot to pay attention to, and it is even directly related to our health. Therefore, CCTV has conducted two experiments to answer the audience’s doubts. These two experiments respectively deal with the following two most concerning issues:
1. Will flushing with the toilet seat open will "flush out" bacteria?
2. Is it "foolproof" if you close the toilet seat and flush?
Next, let’s “review” these two CCTV experiments, hoping to give everyone a deeper understanding of versus toilets.
Experiment 1: Opening the lid and flushing the toilet will "flush out" the bacteria?
In order to conduct bacterial testing experiments, CCTV’s camera crew restored the entire bathroom scene one to one. Including toilet, towel rack, wash basin, shower, tissue box, toothbrush and so on. After sterile treatment, because the bacteria were too small, in order to collect statistics more accurately, the experimenters used "fluorescent bacteria" (bacteria that are visible to the naked eye through ultraviolet irradiation).
The final data from the experiment shows that opening the lid and flushing the toilet will indeed "flush out" bacteria, and bacteria are present in almost every key location in the entire bathroom.
The distribution pattern of bacteria is also very obvious. The closer it is to the toilet, the more bacteria there are. Among them, the tissue box is closest to the toilet, so there are 5 bacteria, while the toothbrush above the wash basin farthest from the toilet has 2 bacteria.
So obviously, flushing the toilet with the lid open is a very incorrect way. Because it can directly "fly out" the bacteria in the toilet.

Experiment 2: If you close the toilet seat, won’t bacteria “fly out”?
Although it has been confirmed that flushing the toilet with the lid open is unreasonable, will "flush the toilet with the lid closed" be foolproof? Subsequently, CCTV conducted another set of experiments, this time using a comparison method. That is to say, the toilet flushing operation can be performed in two scenarios: opening the lid and closing the lid.
But this time the experimental data shows that even if the toilet lid is closed and flushed, bacteria will fly out. However, the bacterial counts between the two are quite different. Under other conditions being equal, if you flush the toilet with the lid closed, only 3 bacteria will fly out, while if the lid is open, there will be 17!
So obviously, closing the lid and flushing the toilet cannot prevent bacteria from flying out, but it can at least reduce the bacteria from flying out.
